> 3 dayMy Hoover Powerscrub XL Pet machine is Great – outcleaned all the spray cans and rented Rug Dr.s and Bissels I’ve tried. I was hoping to save carpets, instead of replace them after 4 years of spot-treating for cats and dogs, feet, food and wine spills. The carpet got so bad the animal smell just didn’t go away, even right after I spent $$ on a rental machine. A friend suggested I look at the carpet with a black light. When I recovered from gagging, I looked at a lot of machine reviews. There were 4 or 5 that looked pretty good. Besides good reviews, I chose this Hoover for the option of whole-floor or spot cleaning with the hose, and for the price. WHAT I LIKE about it: Besides just getting the carpet super-clean, I like the cleanser-dispensing bin. No need to mix cleaner into every new tank of water. One fill of the dispensing bin lasts for several tanks. It’s very light, so easy to operate even when full. Even with my multiple runs over every area, two fills of the clean-water bin did a standard-size bedroom. The machine also cleans up very easily. SUGGESTIONS: Pay attention to the machine’s directions. Its not exactly same as the rental models. At first look, I was afraid the clean water bin didn’t fit as it didn’t drop completely into the machine, but when filled with water, it fit fine. Be sure the dirty-water bin is properly set in, AND prime the machine according to directions, so the water will pick up. You can clearly see it come up into the bin. I recommend the professional cleaning solution – especially for pet-mess problems. Be patient. I made numerous runs in multiple directions over every piece of floor, and even more on stains. End result, even the worst stains disappeared under normal light, and with the black light, about 95% to 100% disappeared. And – NO more bad smells! I have NOT yet used the hose or hand tools so can’t review them. Some machines I reviewed had a feature to keep the water hot. I found this unnecessary. In addition, I wasnt worried about how wet the carpet was -- I just planned to let it dry overnight.

Greater than one weekIt’s okay as far as a do- it-yourself carpet cleaner- they’re ALL not fun to use! It didn’t work so well on a thin rug on my hard floor- wouldn’t suck up the water very well- but okay on carpet. The squeegee attachment for hard floors was NOT in the mesh bag or box as described in the manual. I’m impressed with the hand held attachments, though.

Greater than one weekI received my Hoover on Sunday, June 4, 3023. I have to say I was nervous to purchase this after reading some of the reviews concerning leakage. In my opinion, this is the best carpet cleaner I have used by far. It performed very well. The only issue I had was it did not come with the screws to attach the handle as it was suppose to. Luckily I had screws that fit. Outside of that I had no issues at all. I was amazed with the amount of dirt and dog hair this one machine collected. I am very please with the results. Great buy. No complaints here.

> 3 dayI have bought 4 Bissells in the past 8 years and they didn’t seem to get all the water out.. When I decided to go for Hoover & couldn’t believe how wonderful this was.. The carpet was not only clean put barely damp. I couldn’t believe how good this was. It is #1 for a person who like her house clean & fresh. I also used it on my bathroom tile floors. I have a extremely hard time getting hairspray off the floor but not anymore!! You have wheels underneath instead of having one & that makes a huge difference.. If you like a clean house, this is like a toy & I get excited to use it cause I know my house is clean. Furniture, carpets, cars & tile floors!! ❤️❤️

> 3 dayThis is a fabulous deal. I was leery of reported rusty metal near gaskets that would fail, so I purchased an extended warranty. But as the instruction booklet advises, I left the tanks and filter, front spray cover and spinner brushes to dry overnight like I did the carpet (after hand-toweling dry tank gaskets/pin and rest of the body). I released the handle and left the Hoover outstretched to dry on the living room tile. In the morning, I used an old travel-sized Sticky Buddy (lint/hair remover, pictured) to remove the lint from the (dry) black tank filter - 95% came off after the first pass on each side. I also took a Philips trimmer comb (pictured) Id never used, to gently (don’t break anything) lift/nudge the gray fuzz out of the soft (dry) spinner bristles (the fuzz has been “washed” after all); compare the 2 cleaned scrubber wheels at each end to the 3 uncombed ones in between. My naturally speckled 9-yr-old rental carpet looked like side-by-side moped tires dipped in axle grease had been making their way between the living room tile and the bathroom (top left), along the foot of the bed/dressers (from tile toward the right) and general gray grunge for the remaining carpet (center). It was depressing. All gone now, using only a fraction of the Hoover box’s enclosed cleaner solution, after 3 years of neglect (my ancient Pro Heat died, so I tried various by-hand methods). Because of the build-up in traffic areas, I did not follow directions re over-wetting the carpet: I did the advised wet/dry passes a couple times over the whole carpet; then I came back to the traffic areas and did more wet passes with only occasional dry, until each section started to really lighten (at most, a minute); then I backed off and dried, rinsed and dried again thoroughly. I left 3 small fans blowing on 3 sides of the bed all night, along with a small space heater on low heat for the largest area, and plopped the rinsed tanks and accessories into those streams of fan-blown air. All told, I spent about an hour shampooing/rinsing/sucking-dry the carpet around my bed and short hallway to the bathroom, and another hour rinsing/drying tanks/parts and doing silly things like combing spinner brushes. This Hoover is smaller, lighter and more maneuverable than my old Pro Heat (except for sneaking under furniture edges). Heavy/bulky upholstery tools are stored in a separate accessory bag, not on the machine, and all the gross stuff can be rinsed (or rolled/combed off) with ease. So I’m fine with having it next to my grandkids basket of stuffed animals (it’s certainly cleaner than the bottom of my shoes that tracked carport oil/silt onto the carpet in the first place, lol). I will likely use the Hoover only once or twice a year for 100 sq ft of carpet, so taking time to clean/dry it for storage afterward is no big deal. It’s not a commercial-grade behemoth. You can’t fling it around like a mop, either: just slowly up and back, overlap, slowly up and back about one foot/sec – works GREAT. Sneaking the scrubber under furniture will press the Hoover’s upper tank against that furniture and pry it loose from its gasket so the Hoover stops sucking. But it has accessory tools to clean where its built-in brushes cant go. Also, note that the latch for the lower tank is shared with the spray shield below – since the latch is happy to flip either way, it takes a few tries to get the hang of how it should look/feel – there is no solid thunk as it latches successfully onto the lip of the tank. And yes, I wish the cord were about 3 ft longer. I can’t speak to its longevity yet, but I found this carpet cleaner to be thoughtfully engineered, the parts align/latch correctly, its tanks are easy to fill/empty. It’s clean, so I can keep it handy indoors for any kiddie spills that occur. There may be lemons out there, but the one I received completely refurbished the pitiful carpet I’ve been living with. Thank you, Hoover and Amazon Prime!

> 3 day5 dogs. Two boys. We don’t wear shoes in house but still…. The carpet came out like the day it was installed. The darker marks are just the shading from paws and feet prints not dirt. This was better than expected. I highly recommend.

Greater than one weekFor the price & size of machine it cleans very good! I was owner/ op of Carpet and Upholstery cleaning biz, for a small home cleaning unit this is been worth money for cleaning Sofa with pet stains & dirt. You need to Dry Vacuum it a few times in each area as you finish cleaning. I also put a Box Fax blowing on Sofa when completed cleaning. 2 to 3 hours max and its dry. I get it fairly wet due to Accidents from animals, when not feeling well cats will urinate in areas other than litter box. I had 2 cats with bladder infection and this cleaner is used weekly. I add deodorizer to soapy side and rince side. Works well! This cleaning machine will save you Hundreds of dollars in a Sofa cleaning, that if you go slow and Rince sofa well it will be almost or as good as a Professional Cleaning ! Really. Im not paid or nor get freebies for any Reviews.

> 3 dayI moved into a house for rent and the carpet appeared brown. No odor so I never knew it was packed with mud. I used this vacuum 4 times throughout the week and my carpet is now the original tan color. I can definitely tell whoever had this house before me smoked. The smell was obvious once I started but quickly went away near the end of the task. 10/10 money well spent.
