Infant Optics Wide Angle Lens For DXR-8

We got this so we could have a full view of our toddlers room. It covers about 80% of the room (we put the camera on a corner shelf to get a better viewing angle), so its nice not having to look around the whole room. The video quality is definitely not as good as the regular lens though, and the night vision is pretty bad. I can barely see my daughters outline at night with the brightness turned up, which is unfortunate.

I really like this wide angle lens now that my baby is older (I wish they would include this one in the camera package instead of the zoom lens). When he was little, I used the regular lens (not the zoom) because they dont move around much in the crib. However, I switched to this wide angle lens at about 9 months of age so that I could see his entire crib as he moved around in it all night. Im very happy with both the field of view as well as the clarity.

Pictures: I included two pictures of the wide angle lens with it showing the whole room and the zoom in. And one picture(the clearer one) of the normal lens without the wide angle lens. Since my daughter got a toddler bed I needed to see the whole room. Well, it works perfect during the day and is bright and vibrant, but when I used it at night, it looks very foggy and not so clear. It’s definitely doable though if you absolutely want to see the whole room but I think I might switch back to the normal lens and just pan around the room if I need to find my daughter.

This is the lense that should come with the camera. If you plan to mount the camera over the crib. You want this lense unless you want to mount the camera 6’ up on the wall... With this lense we can see the whole crib with the camera mounted about 1.5’ above the crib rail.

Has quite a large view which is great, so we don’t have to rotate the camera constantly. However, it’s very pixilated, and pretty much not usable when zoomed in because of how blurry the picture is.

This works just as expected. Provides a wide angle view on the baby monitor, allowing us to see more of the crib and bedroom so we do not have to adjust the camera angle as often.

Degrades the quality vs the normal lens. Its ok for daytime though

It’s a lens. What does it ask about battery life for? I love it. Does it’s job well.

My granddaughter recently graduated from her crib to a “Big Girl” bed now. I am such a fan of infant optics products that I purchased the wide lens so that we had full view of her room during playtime, naptime & bedtime. The vision is so clear even at night. No more moving the camera from side to side. Now I can sit and stalk her from one angle. Absolutely recommend this product
