Infant Optics Wide Angle Lens For DXR-8

> 3 dayIncredibly easy to install, just twist it into the threads of The camera after you take the old lens out. My only complaint is the picture quality is not perfect. It may have more to do with the camera and less with this lens, but it could have been better. I can still see everything at a nice wide angle (ie my kids entire bed), but it’s a tiny bit fuzzy.

> 3 dayIt’s a lens. What does it ask about battery life for? I love it. Does it’s job well.

> 3 dayThe most important time for a camera to work for me is at night when the little one is sleeping. I can’t tell if his eyes are open or closed. If he has his pacifier. It’s not 50 feet away it’s super close to not work correctly. This lens isn’t very good for that. It’s blurry. The attached lens this camera comes with is great just a little too close but this one didn’t solve that problem. Not sure why it’s such bad night vision from 3 feet away.

> 3 dayI like how small and easy this is to attach to the camera. What I found odd was the necessity of having to buy this lens separately. The infant optics camera I bought came with a standard and zoom lens. I would have gladly paid the extra money to just have the camera come with all three. Instead, I had to order this separately, and since it was so small, it had to become and add-on item, and wasnt in stock. I ended up waiting an extra few weeks to receive this. Seems so unnecessary when infant optics could just easily throw this in with the camera and charge an extra ten bucks. The lens works great. I use it to get a wider view of the room. I can see where it wouldnt be an advantage to some, especially for those who use the zoom feature to get a closer look at their baby. Would I buy this again? Probably. I would have liked the option to have it in the bundle though. As for the infant optics camera, I highly recommend it.

> 3 dayWhy doesn’t this lens come with the monitor!! It’s a must have. If you decide you want this monitor that is The monitor constantly beeped and is always running out of barriers, but the sound must have finally broken itself so it no longer beeps, and I just have to keep it plugged in all the time. Dumb! I’ve wished for a different monitor since day 1

> 3 dayPictures: I included two pictures of the wide angle lens with it showing the whole room and the zoom in. And one picture(the clearer one) of the normal lens without the wide angle lens. Since my daughter got a toddler bed I needed to see the whole room. Well, it works perfect during the day and is bright and vibrant, but when I used it at night, it looks very foggy and not so clear. It’s definitely doable though if you absolutely want to see the whole room but I think I might switch back to the normal lens and just pan around the room if I need to find my daughter.

> 3 dayYes the view is little wider than the original lens on the camera but the quality is less superb. Unless I turn up picture light to 3 or 4 the only thing that shows up on monitor is right in the center where the light on camera lights up. But if I have it that bright it makes my room too bright. My last monitor that i had for 5+ years had amazing quality on the lowest light setting but the charging port was horrible or I would have replaced my old one with it. Unless u really need the wide lens, I’d stick to the one the comes with the camera.

> 3 dayI feel like this should be an optional upgrade when initially buying the camera, but I do think this was a game changer for our camera setup being mounted to the bassinet.

> 3 dayWe have this monitor in a room with a toddler in a toddler bed. He is able to get out of the bed on his own. With this lens on the baby monitor, we can see almost the entire room, and hear him, too. It is super-awesome! The night mode gives a green picture and is sometimes grainy, but pretty OK given that it is really dark in the room.
