Love this camera system! The last thing we want to rely on is our shoty cable WiFi to be used as the go between channel. Forget the nonsense about hackers...I’m talking about being able to see your kid even if the WiFi is down. So reliable, So clear, So cool when you pan or tilt the camera from the remote, and So cool to have a 2 way conversation by simply holding down a key on the monitor. Set up a total of 4 cameras and either watch 1 or scan between them all. Battery seems to last forever and the charging cable is super long so your not held hostage by an outlet. Love this system.

This works just as expected. Provides a wide angle view on the baby monitor, allowing us to see more of the crib and bedroom so we do not have to adjust the camera angle as often.

We didnt initially realize the lens on our camera was interchangeable and were looking at other cameras that had a wider viewing area. The camera continued to pop up on best sellers lists and saw one comment that mentioned purchasing the wider lens. So we gave it a shot, dropped $12 to buy this lens, 100% worth it, EXACTLY what we wanted. We can see the whole room, and didnt have to spend a few hundred on a new camera. Totally worth the investment!

This is my third baby monitor. I purchased it for my 2 year-olds room. My two previous monitors were Samsung SEW-3043W BrightVIEW HD; the Samsung was fine while it worked but both monitors stopped working after about 1 year of regular use. I chose the Infant Optics monitor for 2 reasons - 1) it does not use wifi (my preference for security reasons), and 2) it has a wide angle lens option (sold separately). The wide angle lens is perfect for a bigger view of the entire room which will be great when trying to keep an eye on an active toddler. I have only had the monitor for two days, but it seems to be working great and was very easy to set up. I hope it is reliable and lasts longer than my previous monitors.

This is as described, the wide angle is great for the mounting option I have for the camera allowing me to see the whole bassinet from a close distance. My only gripe is that the camera comes with a regular and zoom lens for some reason in the box and this wide angle one is a separate purchase.

We have three cameras - Here are my thoughts/conclusions Camera One (1) The night vision is horrible unless it is 4 to 5 feet MAX from the subject. (2) The wide angle lens progressively makes the camera get worse over time. (3) The wide angle lens is in no way for a room shot at night. Daytime yes, but if the room is dark you will not be able to see your children whatsoever. The frame around the camera is fuzzy from the moment the wide angle lens is put on the camera. (4) In order to get the camera to function WITHOUT the wide angle lens in a room where there are two beds, it should be up no higher than 4.5 feet and NOT attached to the wall. This does NOT give us a true wide angle shot, but we have to scroll from bed to bed. We can at least see our children to see if they are in bed and/or if their eyes are open. Camera Two (1) Night vision is fine because it is focusing on a white crib and directly over the crib. The distance is maybe 3 feet to the subject. The wide angle is also fine because its 3ft away from the subject, but I dont understand why anyone would want a wider shot of a crib when the one (non-wide angle lens) works totally fine for that. Camera Three (1) Night vision is fine because enough light creeps into the room. I filed a return on Amazon to return the wide angle lens which is absolutely useless to us. Im overall disappointed in the customer service (you get one instruction from one and one totally opposite from another), and the room view for camera one. If you are buying this system to look at cribs you will be fine. If you need it to look at two toddler beds, you will be disappointed like us. The only reason we are keeping it is because our home has plaster walls and its the best system in regards to range. (Like we can get a signal in every room of the house.) Anyways, I hope this review is helpful to you and saves you a month of time and effort.

So far we are extremely happy with the new monitor. We purchased the hand unit and 2 cameras. I like that when toggling between rooms you can hear the sound in the room being shown. Many monitors that toggle do not offer that feature. Only issue we have had is that when you add the separate lens that can be purchased for 11$ the night vision does not work and nothing can be see on hand unit. But other then that its a great purchase and worth the $$!

This lens works great when you are switching from the crib to a toddler bed. It gives a great view of the entire room.

Happy with the price. Happy with the wide angle view. Easy to swap out the lens. 10/10 would recommend

This is one of the best $11 purchases I’ve ever made. You can see the entire room with this lens if the camera’s put at the right spot. We put this in our sons’ bedroom when we moved them into the same room so we could see both beds, and now I want to put one in our playroom also. It’s a really, really nice add-on to the monitor at an awesome price point.

Wide Angle Lens captures the entire room, a full 170-degree view. Best for active babies and toddlers – they can play and explore and you can monitor them and their surroundings. Nothing will escape your notice. Mounts on the camera unit of your DXR-8 and alters the image perspective. Requires Infant Optics DXR-8.
