> 3 dayThe wide lens isnt that much wider than the standard. So Im not sure that I would have ordered it had I known. The night vision isnt truly night vision. You still need a significant amount of light to see anything in the dark. Maybe in the home setting it is fine. But I use it in my goat barn during kidding season to watch for babies being born. I have to leave all the lights on in the barn to see anything after dark.

Greater than one weekI use one of these in the playroom and in the living room so I can check on the kids from time to time. It works really well for this function. The wide angle definitely captures the room better and gives decent night vision. The picture quality is decent, which is actually quite good considering the price point.

> 3 dayAfter 2.5 years with no baby monitor in a small home, we decided to purchase this one because we will soon be moving our infant into the same room as our toddler. The picture quality on the camera is fantastic, and it provides us with peace of mind knowing that our kiddos are safe together in the same room. We also purchased the wide view lens so that we can see both the crib and the twin bed.

> 3 dayI wish I would have listened to the reviews! I have no idea how this lens gets 5 stars. We just purchased the Infant Optics - DXR-8 PRO & needed a wide angle lens. Upon receiving the lens, we hooked it up with ease & the clarity was like looking through a Motorola Razr Flip Phone from 2005. It’s beyond me how a company that makes a wonderful baby monitor, with up to date technology, is still stuck in the early 2000’s in picture clarity with a simple wide angle lens. And to top it off, the night vision was horrendous- you could see absolutely nothing but a bright white glare. It was like watching TV static. It’s a good thing this lens is only $11, because it’s completely unimpressive & a major let down. I would be embarrassed if I were Infant Optics, producing & putting my name on such a lackluster lens. We just ended up buying a $16 camera mount with a flexible arm that holds the camera above the crib & it solved all of our “wide angle” needs. Please listen to these 1 star reviews…they’re absolutely true!! This product isn’t worth any time or money spent!!

> 3 dayI got this lens since my daughter is now a toddler and we needed view of her entire room. The night vision wasn’t working so I contacted customer service. I had read older versions had bad night vision but they had fixed the issue. Thankfully their customer service is top notch and they resolved the issue. Night vision works now. It isn’t the greatest clarity but it does the job well enough. I’m happy with their system as a whole.

> 3 dayI feel like this should be an optional upgrade when initially buying the camera, but I do think this was a game changer for our camera setup being mounted to the bassinet.

> 3 dayHas quite a large view which is great, so we don’t have to rotate the camera constantly. However, it’s very pixilated, and pretty much not usable when zoomed in because of how blurry the picture is.

> 3 dayIts good, not amazing. Definitely adds the benefit of being able to see an entire room which is very helpful for the playroom, but it does come with a compromise in quality. Picture isnt very clear (although clear enough), especially when kiddo isnt very close to the lens. Still, a better alternative to the regular lens for our family & Im grateful for the increased perspective.

Greater than one weekI was very happy to see that this lens is available for a reasonable price. The lens is easy to install, and provides a nice panoramic of almost the entire room, which is perfect for a roaming toddler. Some reviewers complained about the distortion of the picture, but I find the distortion minimal and am very pleased with the video quality. As other reviewers have mentioned, this lens offers very poor to no night vision (despite the fact that the night vision on the monitor is awesome). If you keep a dim light on it isnt an issue, but in total darkness it is pretty much impossible to see anything. I would have given this lens a 5-star rating if it allowed decent night vision, but overall this a must have if you have a toddler.

> 3 dayI was nervous that the night vision would be too poor to make out much since so many reviews seemed to complain about it… but I am sooo glad I bought it! We have the pro so maybe that makes the difference. Wide angle let’s us see where my kiddo is almost anywhere in his room, night vision same quality and regular lense, zoom is a bit blurry but I don’t plan on really using it. Get it! It’s worth the $11!
