Infant Optics Wide Angle Lens For DXR-8

> 3 dayAfter reading the online reviews I decided that the DXR-8 was the one that would suit our needs the best. Very easy set up and works pretty much right out of the box. I wanted this monitor to help us take care of my 98 year old father in law especially during the night. The sound quality is great and the night vision is very good. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a reliable monitoring system.

Greater than one weekI love our Infant Optics camera. We recently converted my daughters crib to a toddler bed. I ordered the wide lens to be able to see more of her room in case she doesnt stay in her bed. The night vision on the wide lens is absolutely awful. I have decided not to use it at all.

Greater than one weekMy granddaughter recently graduated from her crib to a “Big Girl” bed now. I am such a fan of infant optics products that I purchased the wide lens so that we had full view of her room during playtime, naptime & bedtime. The vision is so clear even at night. No more moving the camera from side to side. Now I can sit and stalk her from one angle. Absolutely recommend this product

> 3 dayI was very happy to see that this lens is available for a reasonable price. The lens is easy to install, and provides a nice panoramic of almost the entire room, which is perfect for a roaming toddler. Some reviewers complained about the distortion of the picture, but I find the distortion minimal and am very pleased with the video quality. As other reviewers have mentioned, this lens offers very poor to no night vision (despite the fact that the night vision on the monitor is awesome). If you keep a dim light on it isnt an issue, but in total darkness it is pretty much impossible to see anything. I would have given this lens a 5-star rating if it allowed decent night vision, but overall this a must have if you have a toddler.

> 3 dayI wanted to see more of my sons room, but did not want to lose picture quality! The regular lens is soooo much clearer, so I’m not keeping this one, and I’ll just got back to panning through the room I guess. Pretty disappointed.

> 3 dayI like how small and easy this is to attach to the camera. What I found odd was the necessity of having to buy this lens separately. The infant optics camera I bought came with a standard and zoom lens. I would have gladly paid the extra money to just have the camera come with all three. Instead, I had to order this separately, and since it was so small, it had to become and add-on item, and wasnt in stock. I ended up waiting an extra few weeks to receive this. Seems so unnecessary when infant optics could just easily throw this in with the camera and charge an extra ten bucks. The lens works great. I use it to get a wider view of the room. I can see where it wouldnt be an advantage to some, especially for those who use the zoom feature to get a closer look at their baby. Would I buy this again? Probably. I would have liked the option to have it in the bundle though. As for the infant optics camera, I highly recommend it.

> 3 dayI bought it because I needed a wider view of my child’s bedroom and it was cheap. I had hoped some of the negative reviews about the poor night vision wouldn’t apply to the lens I received. Welp, hello poor night vision. While I can technically see everything I need to see, it’s blurry and shifty.

> 3 dayThis lens allows you to see the whole room which is nice. Now I can see the crib and rocking chair. With the other two lenses, I could only see half of the crib from where I was putting the camera.

> 3 dayI bought this lens right away when I originally bought our camera - our daughter was just over a year and still confined to her crib. When showing my husband, he thought this extra lens would be a waste of money. We are now expecting #2, so we purchased a second camera when the price dropped; and have been using it with the wide lens in the living room for when we need to run to the basement to do laundry and our 2 year old is watching a movie or reading her books. It gives peace of mind that shes not getting into something she shouldnt be when we are out of the room for a few minutes. The wide lens is fantastic for toddlerhood. In fact my husband has now asked me to get a second lens so we can have one for each camera. It went from useless, waste of money to hey we should get a second one. So even if you dont use it right away, it is very handy for when your toddler starts playing independently. It allows you to view the whole room without having to scan the camera to find where your child is hiding.

Greater than one weekThis is the lense that should come with the camera. If you plan to mount the camera over the crib. You want this lense unless you want to mount the camera 6’ up on the wall... With this lense we can see the whole crib with the camera mounted about 1.5’ above the crib rail.
