system mechanic 12 is nearly identical to professional but with a few more extras like antivirus and of course the unlimited pc install rights make this a good home systems software.

Anyone running Windows pcs needs this program, this was a great bargain, it cost a whole lot more at other strores.

I bought this software based on a positive review on PC magazine. Sadly, I should have read these reviews. It totally trashed my computer. OS couldnt be seen by the bios and had to be reinstalled. Drivers gone and devices non functional. When I first installed it, it worked OK, but timing tests indicated virtually no performance improvement. Then, shortly after install, I got a message that an update was available. Installed, rebooted, and computer promptly crashed and couldnt be recovered. Windows install wasnt able to repair the damage. Many hours of work later, Im barely functional.

Probably works great but after Im almost done with installing it, it tells me to remove by virus protection. NOT! So I havent used it. It is sitting in my room. I wont remove my virus protection I purchased just to use this

I have used this for 5 years. I bought it initially to clean up my desktop. It worked well and had kept it running well during that time.

I purchased System Mechanic for 24.95 as an annual subscription. The tool worked ok not great. The app itself is riddled with ways to get you to buy more services. Its annoying. The next month I received another 19.95 charges on my credit card. After struggling to figure out the correct number to call (I promise you they dont make it easy), I spoke to a very confused individual who informed me that when I signed up for System mechanic I also signed up for enhanced tech support at 19.95 a month (read the fine print). This is clearly a deceptive trade practice (I am complaining to the FTC). I immediately canceled all services and uninstalled System Mechanic.

Often freezes when partially in the process. Looks impressive with the number if tools but I could not get many to complete. I also noticed that it freezes if another software starts up. I have required RAM but seems to need more.

This suite of programs provides a wide array of functions from virus checking and prevention, system configuration, HDD maintenance, purging junk files, and more. There is an option for TOTAL CARE, their name for the app, but I have some reservations about the reliability of some of the functions, I>E> the Registry Cleaner and Registry compactor, It appears they may cause some issues over time, in my experience. I have used this for about five years, and recommended it to several others, w/ same caveats. It is worth the money and can be renewed on annual basis for half the retail cost.
