> 3 dayIve used System Mechanic before and really liked it. But the last update includes PHOENIX 360 which deletes all browser passwords, even when the user unchecks the appropriate boxes to prevent this from happening. I emailed IOLO Dec 25, received a case number from them, then nothing. No response. Called them today, Jan 10. On hold over 25 minutes then the phone line was disconnected. Checked the LA BBB office and see they have many complaints about customer service and the product. Until PHOENIX is fixed, do not use this product. By the way, I cant get anyone to authorize a refund, so I am out some money. Save yours. Dont buy IOLO System Mechanic

Greater than one weekThe concept I was told it would do is continually scan and pick up on adware, spam, etc. which it DID NOT! It ignored some stuff that I had to get a tech to clean out, ads were continually allowed to flash when I was doing something else. It didnt have clear enough instructions of installation for (63 yr. old) me. It did not fix anything that I can think of.

> 3 dayInstalling System Mechanic destroyed my computer. It corrupted my registry. It deleted all my Windows 7 restore points. I was unable to access any of my files. Even though IOLO customer service acknowledged their software was responsible for rendering my computer useless, they claimed they have a clause in their license agreement that holds them harmless for any damage caused by their software. They refused to pay the $120 it cost me to have Tiger Direct format my hard drives. All my files were lost. I had two mirrored hard drives mirrored with RAID 1. Both drives were rendered useless.

> 3 dayOften freezes when partially in the process. Looks impressive with the number if tools but I could not get many to complete. I also noticed that it freezes if another software starts up. I have required RAM but seems to need more.

> 3 dayIve been a long time user of Iolo products. System Mechanic Pro is a decent tool. However, their latest software offering has been, at least for me, an extreme disappointment in that I cannot get ANY support for software bought and paid for but which refuses to accept the licensing supplied at time of purchase. Understanding that problems do occur at times, I cannot understand their lack of response to repeated requests for help. It is particularly baffling in view of the fact THEY assigned a case number to my initial request for help. Difficult to recommend a company that refuses to stand behind their products.

> 3 dayI trust this software. I use the quick/long Analysis, Individual Tools, Drive Accelerator, Memory Mechanic, Total Registry Revitalizer, and Program Accelerator the most.

> 3 dayIve had System Mechanic for two years and assumed it was fixing all the things it said it was. However, Ive encountered incredible slowdowns, registry problems and system crashes on my Dell XPS. Now I have experienced problems on the external drive I use for Carbonite Plus Mirror Image Back/Restore (which is really great - restores files + programs + the entire system). Carbonite says they experience this regularly with System Mechanic users as it makes changes to the external drive that renders it inoperable for Carbonite back up use.
