This mat is awesome. Little indentations for holding small parts work well. The mat so far has been impervious to solder splatter. I just wish I got the next size up.

Didnt insulate well at all, the solder burned through and made burn marks on my bench. Would not recommend. screw position written under the screw holders made me laugh, though

So far it has not lain flat. The corners are still curled up been about 4 days. Other than that, I have not used the mat. No contrast on any printing on the mat so will highlight appropriately.

This is a great mat to keep small items from getting away during disassembly and provides a neat way of organizing while disassembly/assembly of electronic parts or small items. The mat lays nicely flat and does not move around.

Do not use for soldering or small electronics repair! Solder And silicon do NOT get along.

I use this thing almost every day, and I havent yet found a way to damage it. It lets me press a hot iron directly onto the surface to meld cables, doesnt stick to any of the glues I use, and has so many options for organization that I havent had a project use them all up yet. Note that this silicone is incompatible with volatile chemicals found in PCB cleaners like flux remover and deoxit. It will swell up like a balloon when hit with the stuff, and then gradually settle back down as it evaporates. No permanent damage, but can be sort of annoying when working on big, multi-step SMD repairs that require a lot of flux removal.
