I bought this so I could have a quick potty chair ready for my son who was learning to potty train. This seat has proven itself indispensable. It has worked amazing in the back of our Tahoe and mini-van for when those urgent needs arise and there is no bathroom in sight. The little bags that you use hold a lot of liquid and waste. My son is 4 years old and is 44 in. tall and weighs 36 lbs and he still uses it as a free-standing potty chair if needed when were on long road trips. We mostly use it now as a toilet ring to put on a standard toilet when using public restrooms or at someones house, as my son still doesnt like the size of the standard toilet opening. We just keep it folded up in the bag in which it came and carry it in his backpack. I absolutely love this thing and will be using it for my daughter as well. (I can also speak from experience that it does hold the weight of a 56, 130 lb woman...with absolutely no issues. It has been a life-saver!!!)

Love this portable travel potty! We had just started potty training when we had dinner plans out for my husbands birthday. Along with this potty, I bought the Potette Plus liners and a package of Summer Infant Keep Me Clean disposable toilet seat covers (for public restroom toilets). The potty comes with a plastic drawstring bag and inside I have the potty, a liner, a disposable seat cover and sanitizing wipes. Went into the restaurant bathroom and put the toilet seat cover on the public toilet and put this potty seat on top (legs of potty laid out flat). He went like a pro! Folded the seat back up, wiped off with sanitizing wipes and put potty back in the bag and tossed the seat cover! No germs on the potty seat - so easy! Used the potty seat as its own seat one time with the potty liner attached and once theyre done, you just take the liner off, tie it up and toss it in the trash! I bought two potty seats; one for my vehicle and another for my husbands truck. By the way, Ive read some reviews where people say buying the Potette liners were a waste or arent necessary and to just use plastic grocery bags instead. Big risk. More often than not, my plastic grocery bags have rips and holes in them. If thats the chance you want to take! HIGHLY RECOMMEND all of these items!!

We bought this for a recent trip to Wyoming, and couldnt be happier. There have been some very comprehensive reviews written before, so I wont bore you with all the details, but in summary, it is good quality, tough plastic, it folds down easily and is lightweight and pretty compact, our son likes sitting on it, and although the guard at the front isnt perfect, it is pretty good for stopping boy spills, and it can be used with any medium to large sized bag. We dont bother with the special refill bags - any grocery bag or small diaper trash bag will work, but we fold s piece of kitchen towel or toilet paper into the bottom to approximate the brand name refill bags. All in all I think this is an excellent product and worth the money. Its also a reasonable size, so should fit most kids through toilet training.

Awesome product. I travel a fair amount and didnt want to delay or jeopardize potty training my toddler because of my fear of getting stuck somewhere without a toilet. I used this mostly on top of public toilets for the first few months - and it was GREAT for that. It reduced the anxiety of my little one trying to go in strange places, especially when he had to sit for a while to, ahem, produce. We used it on airplane toilets, you name it. Then one day we were about to get on a subway train in NYC and he announced that he had to go pee... I pulled out the Potette, had it set up in seconds, and he was able to sit and pee in comfort (if not privacy!). You really do have to push the legs hard to snap them into place so it is sturdy - but if you do that, it is strong enough to hold my 35lb little guy without a problem. I also love that this is super small, lightweight, and easy to carry around. Cant say enough good things.

Other moms recommended this seat to me and Im forever grateful that they did. This little seat has saved us time and again. It has travelled through England and Wales. Attended festivals, fireworks, and parties. Done its duty at the beach, in the car, on the plane, in public restrooms, in private restrooms, at the pool, at the playground, at the Botanical Gardens... you name it. The ease with which you can use it either as a stand alone potty or as a toddler seat on regular toilets is great. There have been countless times that we have had to use it pronto and pulled it out/set it up/packed it back up and got back rolling in record time. Our son is 3 years old and big for his age (42 lbs & 41 inches tall). It is a short little seat but he has no problems with it. He fits fine and it holds his weight easily. I wouldnt use it as his at home option because it wasnt built for that kind of use and it isnt as comfortable as the Bjorn, for instance, but it is great when we are on the go. He knows he has to hold himself down to avoid spills so we are not bothered by the fact that there is not a big cover for little boys. Our biggest challenge with the seat? We have tried using plastic grocery bags with outgrown extra diapers used as the absorbent instead of the Potette liners - we wont be doing that anymore. If you miss seeing the hole in the bag then everything leaks. We found out the hard way several times now so we are going back to the Potette liners. Otherwise it works like a charm. It is small enough that it fits in a backpack/diaper bag/large purse. Im the mom that magically pulls the potty out of her purse at soccer in the public park when one of the kiddos needs to go right now, the public toilet is too far and people frown on just going in the grass. (Although most of the moms now have this seat too. We are all packing Potettes. Haha.) It has truly helped our little guy with his potty training and helps me avoid all of the extra wash associated with all of the accidents that would have happened if we didnt have this little wonder. Tips: 1. Lock the legs in place when using it as a stand alone seat or it wont be sturdy. When locked in properly the seat is very solid/sturdy. 2. Set the seat up in the car before you go on long drives/trips. It helps to have it already set up before you pull over to have the little ones use the seat. 3. We see the Summer Infant Keep Me Clean Disposable Potty covers for public toilets. They definitely help with the ick factor by protecting both your child and the Potette from coming in contact with any part of the public seat. 4. It is small enough to keep with you... so just take it with you. Easy peasey. My family has always teased me for grabbing it when we go out but they always are grateful I have it is the end!

This thing is a lifesaver on road trips. My toddler was still in the midst of potty training and she had no issues using this. It converts to a little seat and you can just put a plastic bag insert in there (they sell ones with turtles on them that are great-motivated my girl to pee on the turtles). It also can be used on a regular toilet so a toddler can sit on it comfortable, 2 for 1! This thing is also DURABLE. We used it on a road trip and forgot it once during a stop. Turned around and found that it had been RUN OVER by a car. And you know what, it still works! Didnt get cracked at all and still using it to this day. Wonderful product!

If you have a potty-training toddler, you need this! It has saved us on numerous occasions. Yes, it is a little annoying and awkward to carry and it does take up most of your diaper bag, but its dual purpose is ingenious and you will be so happy that you have it in your bag the first time you avoid almost having an accident. Unfold the flaps, position them straight out (it will click) and youve got a just-my-size toddler potty seat that you can put on top of any regular toilet. Just like the small seat you probably have at home, only maybe a little smaller and less cushy. Using the same seat on top of a different toilet seems to be very reassuring for my daughter and she is now fine going even in strange public bathrooms. And I like knowing that shes not touching the icky public toilet seat. Or you can fold the flaps all the way around, put in a bag (either the ones that they sell especially for this potty, or a regular cheapo plastic grocery bag with a few paper towels in it) and it becomes a little stand-alone potty. This is great if you are at the playground or somewhere where there are no toilets to put the small seat on, or if you are in the car and theres suddenly an emergency. Probably better for the back of an SUV but it even works on the floor of a Toyota Camry (speaking from personal experience). Yes, it is a bit gross to have to throw away the bag of pee but much less disgusting than cleaning wet pants, socks and car seat. This potty is not large -- it is definitely designed for a toddler and probably and average-to small- sized one at that. If you have a big kid, you might want to try out someone elses (is that totally gross?!) or at least take a look at it at a store before purchasing. I have a skinny mini so the size is no problem for us and I like that it is as small as possible because it does fit my diaper bag. Im hoping shell be fully trained soon so I wont be carrying it forever and shell likely still be pretty young and tiny, but I could see keeping it in the car for emergencies when she is older. A mom that I know of a five and a nine-year-old told me she still has one (not sure if is this exact one or a different brand) in her trunk just in case. I did a lot of research on potty seats and didnt see any other products that combine the two functions in such a small package. I would definitely buy this again (although is seems like it will probably hold up through multiple potty-trainers, so I will likely not have to) and have recommended it to all of my potty-training friends.

Seriously, whoever came up with this invention is even better than Henry Ford for inventing cars; hands-down this is the greatest purchase I have made for my 18mo daughter...and weve purchased a LOT! My daughter said potty? the other day while in public, and was terrified of me holding her over the big (nasty) public restroom potty and wouldnt go...so in the diaper it was, poor thing. So we purchased this potty on the suggestion of a fellow Mom. I was skeptical, as my daughter is used to a padded seat, that sits on our big toilet (weve gone that route and not a mini-potty...shes done amazing starting at about 16mos~) so I was a bit concerned on whether or not she would understand what this was (when used as a stand-alone potty on the floor/ground): it came in the mail, I opened it, popped out the legs and locked them in place (**you have to pull them out to standing position, then push them upwards into the seat until you hear them click**) and set it on the floor...she immediately exclaimed potty!!! and sat down to hang out. SUCCESS!! From here on out this new travel potty was my bff. I keep it in its plastic bag, in our diaper bag 24/7...it paid for itself twice already: having it at my parents house 3hrs away to pop the legs to the side and put on the big potty, when I didnt think to bring her usual potty seat, and again when we were on the beach and she said potty. I dont go anywhere without it, ever. It comes with plastic bags that will hook around it, that they pee/poo into when youer on the go, and inside is a little pad to soak it all up...dont waste your money on more of these specialty bags...use some plastic grocery store bags, and line them with the thick maxi pads...its the same exact thing, and a FRACTION of the cost since you can buy cheapo brand pads. BUY THIS ITEM!!!!

This is THE BEST purchase I have made in regards to potty training! My son was 20 months old when I purchased it and still loves it 2 months later, calling it his lady bug potty, because thats what he thought it was when he first saw it! I have not used the liners yet, but here are the ways I have used it and the features I liked: Works well in a public restroom. It does sit back towards the middle of the seat, so his ankles do touch the front of the seat unless I hold them up. It still is much more sanitary than just a paper liner or trying to hold him over the seat. It works well outside! I know I have a boy, but he does not yet have any concept of standing to void. I can set this outside towards the edge of the yard and it makes potty breaks during outside play a breeze! (We live in a very wooded area). Is great for when we are at grandparents--since this stores easily in his diaper bag, we dont have to try to always remember his potty seat from home. I thought the small pee guard would be a problem; however it has not been at all. I hold my sons knees together and he has never made a fountain over the top. Now he even holds his legs together on his own. My only annoyance is, when snapping the legs out of the sitting position, unless you do it very carefully, they snap out completely. It took a couple of tries to get it right...

This travel potty is exactly what I was looking for. My son is tiny and definitely cant use an adult size potty yet. I was the mom carrying his normal potty around because I was disgusted by the thought of him trying to not fall through in regular toilet. The potty fits nicely on every seat Ive tried so far. When using it as a stand alone potty it is low to the ground but my toddler doesnt seem to mind. Its small enough to fit in my backpack diaper bag no problem. I also love that he can hold on to the legs instead of grabbing the public seat I use it with a toilet seat cover and its the perfect pair.
