> 3 dayI have used Kester solder for a long time. It cost more then some of the others but you are confident in your work when finished.

> 3 daySo much better than other rosin-core solder that Ive used. The rosin has a tendency to char fairly quickly (even with a temperature controlled tip like a Metcal), but it cleans up so fast with just a little bit of isopropanol. Barely any effort and youre done, unlike some heavier rosins that force you to scrub. I wouldnt recommend it for fine parts, because it really needs a good temperature match to flow well. But, for thru-hole parts like pots, jacks and headers, this is my favorite.

Greater than one weekI dont know if I am overheating or under heating but this stuff is supposed to activate similar to RMA. It is not. I have not adjusted my settings from when I was using Indium 53563-0454 (which I thought should be similar) and these two solders are worlds apart. I had to check the label to make sure it was 245 because it literally behaves like flux free solder. I have no better way to describe it. I bought this on the off chance it would be a good alternative. The solder balls up, dries out, and SMD components are literally popping off. Same settings as my last solder., check the spec sheets they should work the same as far as I can tell. I am assuming the rosin is burning off too quickly or I got a bad batch. Regardless, I wouldnt buy again. I gave this two stars because it still may have a practical use when using additional flux but that kind of removes the selling point of rosin cored solder. Alternatively, I could be making some error but I am going back to Indium.

> 3 dayGreat for soldering on printed circuit boards. Finished projects required very little cleaning. For non-PCB soldering, I still prefer old-fashion regular rosin-core solder for its ease of flow. All Kester solders are great quality products.

Greater than one weekKester, for me, is an old (1889) trusted brand that always has given me consistently good solder connections.
