> 3 dayI got this because Ive been soldering parts alot lately. My gripe with this is instead of keeping the top cap on, they literally taped the entire top with tape. The end result? If you try to pull the tape off, it rips off the label. Im hoping this is a one off experience. Cause thats just dumb! Otherwise, a quality solder, looks very authentic.

07-06-2025This solder Kester 24-6337-8800 is supposed to be some of the best out there. Ive been trying to use it off and on now for 3 weeks and still cant get it to flow well. I dont know if its the no-clean flux... or if that flux is only 1%, but seemingly no matter what temp I set it at, it doesnt want to play nice. It is shiny and clean looking when it is finished, but it just takes a lot of effort to get there. Im sure there is a trick to getting it to work quick and easy, I just havent found it yet. Perhaps when I do Ill adjust this review and toss another star on so that I can let yall know how I fixed what I was doing wrong with it. Till then, Im using KESTER SOLDER 24-6040-0027 which Ive found works beautifully and doesnt take much clean up with the flux.

Greater than one weekWhat can you say? Narrow gauge, good for electronics. Ive been using Kester for 50 years, as long as they havent changed the formula it should be fine

> 3 dayDont let the slightly higher price scare you away. After the first use, youll understand why is more expensive.

> 3 dayI typically use another formula of Kester solder. Decided to give this a try. It works very much like more common Kester solder. I noticed much less residue. It seems to have a slightly higher melting point and a bit less flow (I do through-hole components). The difference is small and the decreased residue is a real plus.

> 3 dayGood solder. Used it yesterday and today so far. Solders all my wires together. So much easier to use than that lead-free garbage Id been trying to use for years.
