> 3 dayI paid $40 for this drive in July of 2022. SATA3, 480GB. Not bad. Slim, well-manufactured product. Being SATA, it was very easily installed, and the machined screw holes were already there so I could mount it to my laptops proprietary bracket. I installed it into an old laptop to replace the aging mechanical HDD (seek times ever-increasing). I bought a new Win11 laptop earlier, but thought Id salvage this older model with a touchscreen and a CD burner built in. So, I installed this new drive and imaged it as a dual-boot Linux Mint and Win10 machine (its old enough that Win11 wont work with it), and now its like new (very fast compared to the old HDD)! Definitely worth the money and effort to re-image this new drive!

Greater than one weekI have an almost 10 year old Vaio that I use for streaming and net surfing. It came with a 500GB HDD but after 9 and some odd years that HDD was holding on to life by a thread. Laptop was extremely slow and would freeze up on me after a couple of hours of use. I noticed that the HDD was making some clicking noises and ran a test. Sure enough the thing was bad. I came across this SSD watching a Youtube video by some bloke that buys random tech and reviews them. So I thought, Why not give this a try? Better than buying a new laptop, right? Its easy to install but when it came to installing Windows on it, I ran into an obstacle. It kept telling me that the partition was not available for install. Time to get my tablet and find a fix. I did, and 30 minutes later my laptop is alive and boy is it FAST! It used to take about 2 and a half minutes to boot up...now it takes seconds. I love my laptop even more now. Now, she is my daily driver and I will be installing some video editing software and Photoshop later, so I will be using it quite a lot. I will update later whether or not it continues to rock my world or die like some of these folks have experienced.

> 3 dayKingston is my go to memory source for the last 10 years so decided to give their SSD line a go. Install was a breeze and happy with the speeds. Price per GB was better than similar drives at the time of purchase. Does NOT come with a hard drive trey, this is a bare 2.5 drive.

> 3 dayFor $31 (240 gb), it boots up in 30 sec... Or spend twice as much for Samsung brand that boots up in 25 sec... I go with a cheaper one... Also, I have 4 cheaper SSD drives that last over 2 years now...

Greater than one weekI was looking for a dedicated Linux HDD and SSD prices have dropped so much its amazing. Really sped things up too compared to a partition on a normal 7200rpm drive.

> 3 dayDefinitely not the fastest SSD on the market, but for what it is, its fantastic. Its very inexpensive and provides performance SIGNIFICANTLY better than a mechanical hard drive. Kingston knows theyre not top of the line, and they price their products accordingly; I respect them for that. I dont buy the highest end top of the line components because I dont buy parts so I can benchmark them and get excited about how fast they are. Real world performance is all I care about, and Im not going to notice the difference of a few seconds between different SSDs. The difference between HDD and SDD though, phew! HUGE! I just want Windows to boot up fast (about 8 seconds after I hit the power button Im in Windows), games to load quickly (Battlefield 1 maps load in about 10 seconds) and this drive is perfect for that. Also, my motherboard has SATA 2 and not 3, so there was no reason for me to get the fastest drive available. KEEP IN MIND FOR THE SCREENSHOT THAT I POSTED, THIS IS WITH A SATA 2 CONNECTION, NOT SATA 3. SATA 3 is (theoretically) twice as fast, so there would be a significant increase in performance with a SATA 3 board over this. Still extremely pleased with these results on a sata 2 connection with a $45 drive. Would buy again, and probably will.
