Kingston 480GB A400 SATA 3 2.5 Internal SSD SA400S37/480G - HDD Replacement for Increase Performance

Bought it to upgrade my current computer, works perfectly.

I installed this drive in my PS4 Pro. I was waiting for a reasonably priced drive to hit the market with more space than the standard 1TB 5400RPM HDD that came stock with the console. First thing you notice is how light and thin it is. Since it is not 2TB and it’s 1.92TB, Kingston can charge a bit less than the competition. The PS4 Pro has a bottleneck with regards to speed so you don’t need the fastest SSD, just a SSD is fine. Kingston even has a YouTube video with step by step instructions on how to swap the drives. Overall, an excellent value. My console feels twice as fast now and has much more storage capacity.

Not as fast as others, but it is cheap and boots up fast. For the money, you cant do better.

I shucked the drive out of its case, and it is tiny! It went right into the case of a Dell Wyse 5060 thin client, replacing a bulkier 16GB storage card, and the current Debian installer saw it right away.

THERE IS EXTRA WORK TO BE DONE. THIS DRIVE IS NOT PLUG AND PLAY. IT ACTUALLY CRASHED MY COMPUTER THE FIRST TIME I TRIED TO INSTALL IT. AFTER SOME PRETTY RIGOROUS TROUBLE SHOOTING. I FOUND OUT THAT YOU NEED TO USE PARTITION SOFTWARE TO REPARTITION THE DRIVE AS IT COMES UNALLOCATED. THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER FROM THE WEBSITE. AFTER I DID THAT IT WORKED AS AN EXTERNAL STORAGE DEVICE. IT IS A GREAT VALUE BUT YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE MIGRATION SOFTWARE AND PARTITION SOFTWARE...
