This is solid brass and replaced my 20 year old Kohler strainer perfectly. The lock ring that secures the strainer under the sink is now steel which can bend if overtightened. Tip: Use Plumbers Putty to seal the strainer to the sink ... not silicone. The old lock ring was also made of solid brass. I used the old lock ring to secure the new strainer. This is a quality product and I am very pleased with my purchase. Price was reasonable and the Seller got it to me fast. Very pleased with the product and the service.

When I received it, I understood why it is much more expensive: very high quality materia! Install is easy, no more or less than installing it of a different brand. No leaks. Everything fits perfectly well. Screw in by hand, no leak. My only thing is whether it is worth such good materia for something that can look the same as other with a little less high quality materia. I did see other models from the same manufacturer. I proabbly should have gone to a cheaper model for similar outcome.

Stainless strainer is expensive, but the only way to go. This one is nice and heavy duty. I doubt if I will ever have to replace it.

The Kohler stainless steel sink strainer is high quality. This is the second time Ive purchased this item. The last time I bought it from a big box store. This time the item was purchased from LILAHS CREATIONS through Amazon. The item arrived as promised. The vendor, LILAHS CREATIONS, has followed up twice to insure Im satisfied.

The sink strainer looked like good quality until we installed it. We bought two and the first one went in without a problem, following direction to a T. The second one started out ok but as we tightened the screws evenly it caused the the ring to cross thread. I guess not the worst thing in the world unless you ever want to get it off. But the main think was when we put in the basket (sink stopper) the water flowed through as if we didnt have it in the stop water position. For the price of that sink strainer I would think the rubber gasket on the basket would work, but it doesnt. Guess now I have to put out more money for a sink stopper that works.Very disappointed.

Works perfectly, should have paid the difference for Kohler quality the first time. Well worth the money.

It looks great. It was easy to install and matches my stainless sink even though it is not Kohler brand.

Well worth the money! I had earlier purchased a different strainer from my local big box hardware store about 3 months ago. It was a made in China stainless steel strainer priced at about half the price of this Kohler. What a mistake! It actually started to rust in less than a month after installation. Shame on these stores for carrying this junk!

This thing weighs a ton. I was having a leaking issue with the strainer baskets that were included with the Kohler all-in-one sink/faucet kit I got from the local warehouse club. Installing this thing fixed it, but I have a sneaking suspicion its the rubber washer that came with this strainer basket that fixed the issue and not the basket itself. Kohler got my money going both ways, so good for them, but if youre replacing your strainer basket for the same reason I did try getting a rubber washer first and save the money. This thing is well made but it seems like overkill. None of the other kitchen sinks Ive installed had this issue and Ive used the baskets that were included with the kits. The one thing that might make this worth the money? Ditching the lock ring that needs a special tool youll only use once every 10 years! Screwing in three bolts was crazy simple and it was easy to center the strainer. We got ours used from warehouse deals. It was marked good but it was actually good as new and cost a 1/3rd of the new price. Good luck!
