Greater than one weekI actually ordered two versions of this part and returned one. The oil-rubbed bronze version was much lighter and made in China. The basket appeared to be made of stainless sheet metal, while the oil-rubbed bronze parts were made of brass. Because the color was close to black, I decided to order the brushed nickel part for installation. The basket of this part was made of nickel-plated cast brass in the USA. The brushed nickel finish on the strainer is over brass. The cast metal basket of the second, nickel-plated part is much heavier. Some reviews mentioned that this is over-engineered, but I appreciated the retro quality. This basket will likely last a while, and if the brushed nickel parts wear or corrode, the screws make it easier to replace. Be wary of the origin of the part. Both have decent quality but only the US made part is worth the price.

> 3 dayThe sink strainer looked like good quality until we installed it. We bought two and the first one went in without a problem, following direction to a T. The second one started out ok but as we tightened the screws evenly it caused the the ring to cross thread. I guess not the worst thing in the world unless you ever want to get it off. But the main think was when we put in the basket (sink stopper) the water flowed through as if we didnt have it in the stop water position. For the price of that sink strainer I would think the rubber gasket on the basket would work, but it doesnt. Guess now I have to put out more money for a sink stopper that works.Very disappointed.

> 3 dayThat is what my plumber said when he installed our new Granite sink and this strainer. It is really nice, I like the way it operates better than the stem type strainers which roll around like a top on its side when you set them on a counter.

> 3 dayWell worth the money! I had earlier purchased a different strainer from my local big box hardware store about 3 months ago. It was a made in China stainless steel strainer priced at about half the price of this Kohler. What a mistake! It actually started to rust in less than a month after installation. Shame on these stores for carrying this junk!

> 3 dayWorks and looks awesome. I replaced a unit from one of the home centers that kept leaking. The Kohler design is far superior!

> 3 dayThis is very nice. I like it a lot. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes it does clog on its own while doing dishes. But it is a very sturdy drain and looks very nice. I definitely would recommend it.

> 3 dayI recently had a laundry remodeled and bought an excellent Zuhne sink which came with a plastic drain. I always find Kohler products to be engineered well and durable. Hard to find them locally so I bought it for my pet contractor who really appreciates the quality construction and he never complains about installing them
