You never have to lift it out of your sink except to throw out what its caught. Its the best sink strainer Ive ever owned.

It keeps falling apart. The screw that holds it together comes loose. Very unhappy with this Kohler quality

The stopper does not reliably do its job and drains the basin the majority of the time, working properly only on occasion. I asked for a replacement, was sent one right away, and IT too will not reliably seal the drain. Mind you, this is an expensive strainer/stopper costing over $100.00. Its got to be an issue with the rubber O ring. Very dissatisfied.

Concerned. The outer rim and inner strainer piece were different metal finishes. 1 was brushed and other was like a chrome nickel shiny appearance :( otherwise good product

When I received it, I understood why it is much more expensive: very high quality materia! Install is easy, no more or less than installing it of a different brand. No leaks. Everything fits perfectly well. Screw in by hand, no leak. My only thing is whether it is worth such good materia for something that can look the same as other with a little less high quality materia. I did see other models from the same manufacturer. I proabbly should have gone to a cheaper model for similar outcome.

My husband and I bought this strainer for our kitchen in summer 2008. We bought it mostly for the brushed nickel finish that would match our other kitchen hardware. Right from the start there were problems. The black rubber rings that are supposed stop the water from draining out of the sink would pop off all the time. I would fill the sink with soapy water and a few minutes later it would be drained. I would try to re-adjust the strainers so that they would hold water. Sometimes I could get it to hold water but often they wouldnt. We paid just under $50 a piece for two strainers and it was by far the worst money we spent renovating our entire kitchen. The product has a one year warranty. We didnt take advantage of it in time so the company graciously sent us two new rubber rings.
