> 24 hourI recently purchased the Lexmark Black & White Laser Printer 4 Series B3442dw, and I must say, it has completely exceeded my expectations. As someone who was previously using an inkjet printer, the difference in performance is astounding. The laser technology in this printer delivers exceptional print quality, with sharp and crisp text that is truly professional-looking. One of the standout features of the Lexmark B3442dw is its speed. This printer is lightning fast when it comes to printing multiple copies. Whether I need to print a few pages or dozens of duplicates, the B3442dw handles it effortlessly and quickly. This has been a game-changer for my productivity, as I no longer have to wait around for pages to slowly trickle out of an inkjet printer. The duplex printing capability is also a huge bonus, allowing me to print on both sides of the paper automatically, saving both time and resources. Overall, the Lexmark Black & White Laser Printer 4 Series B3442dw is a fantastic printer that far surpasses the performance of an inkjet printer. I received a special deal on this product for providing my feedback.

> 24 hourI recently purchased the Lexmark Black & White Laser Printer 4 Series B3442dw, and I must say that I am extremely satisfied with its performance. This printer has proven to be a reliable workhorse, consistently delivering high-quality prints with remarkable speed and efficiency. First and foremost, the WiFi connectivity feature of this printer has been a game-changer for me. Setting up the wireless connection was a breeze, and I can now print from any device in my home or office without the hassle of connecting cables. The convenience of wireless printing cannot be overstated, especially when multiple users need to access the printer simultaneously. In terms of print quality, the Lexmark monochrome laser printer excels. It produces crisp, sharp text with excellent clarity, making it ideal for professional documents, reports, and other text-based materials. The monochrome capability ensures that the printer focuses on black-and-white printing, resulting in faster print speeds and cost-effective operation. It prints at 42 ppm and has automatic two-sided printing. Commenting on the downsides, its worth mentioning a few. The mobile companion app setup can be a bit clunky. While the wireless printing functionality itself works well, the initial setup process through the app was clunky and didn’t work for me. Secondly, the built-in screen on the printer could be considered cheap or lacking in quality compared to some other models. The screens resolution and overall user interface may not be as advanced or visually appealing as one would hope. While it serves its purpose in displaying basic information and navigating through menus, it may not provide the same level of clarity or responsiveness as higher-end printers. Despite these downsides, its important to note that they do not significantly impact the core functionality and performance of the printer. The clunky app setup can be overcome with a bit of patience and troubleshooting, and the built-in screen, although not top-notch, still serves its purpose adequately. These aspects are outweighed by the printers overall reliability, print quality, speed, and convenience of wireless printing. In conclusion, the B3442dw has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, print quality, speed, and ease of use. The wireless connectivity feature has greatly simplified printing tasks! I received a special deal on this product for providing my feedback.

> 24 hourThe packaging looked perfect, no punctures, tears, or scrapes. But as I unboxed the printer, a small coil spring fell out. Not sure if this matters, but it was a sign of things to come. The printer never printed a single page. Each time I tried, the page would make it about half way through the printer and then the thing would decide that it was jammed. Although I did not get far with the printer, I did get far enough to find three problems. Problem 1: the printer cannot accept a long WiFi password, and it does not inform you that this is a problem. You have to use supernatural methods to conclude that you must use a WiFi access point with a short password. Problem 2: the back door of the printer went off one of its two hinges, for lack of a better word. I have no idea how this happened, because I was very gentle with the printer while opening and closing it. But I had to use considerable force to get the door back in place. I have to wonder what other plastic deformations this printer is capable of. Problem 3: the entire printer is thin plastic and bendy. I realize that the days of solid office equipment are long gone, but this printer is especially shoddy. I cant imagine how it could last, even if it starts out alive on arrival.

> 24 hourI would be returning this printer as I was misinformed about the optional tray being included but that it wasn`t when the printer arrived. Other than that it is a very fast and efficient printer.

> 24 hourI would like to introduce you to my brand-new Lexmark Black and White Laser Printer 4 Series B3442dw. It is extremely easy to set-up, including the included software or you can download it from Lexmarks website. Firmware was up-to-date and it has an easy-to-use owners manual and accessories manual too. The app was also easy to use and recognized my printer almost immediately. You can setup the printer through Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB. The printing is very fast, sharp, laser quality and automatically two-sided if you wish and prints on assorted size papers and various print media. it has very low print costs, with A high yield toner. The printer connects to cloud sharing platforms and includes A one year warranty and next business day service. Has excellent end-to-end security. All-in-all A high quality fast laser printing setup, for home or office, well worth the price indeed. I thank you for reading my review.

> 24 hourAfter setting up, this printer is pretty nice. You DO NOT need to install a CD and you can setup 100% from mobile as long as you currently have wifi setup. Steps: 1. Unpackage everything. Take all the tapes off. Take out the toner and remove the foam piece. Put paper in the paper tray. 2. Plug it in and go through the setup process. Skip mobile setup for now. Setup wifi...the interface is kind of a pain, but hey....youre not paying for a 300+ printer. 3. Go to print setting to turn on direct access via wifi. 4. DO NOT download the stupid Lexmark mobile app. None of it. Its crappy. After 30 min fighting with the stupid thing, I tried a third party app android app called: NokoPrint 5. Find it in your Playstore and download it. Follow the setup. It probably wont find the drive, so select Generic drive. 6. Attempt to print something. If printing a pdf, itll have you download one more small package so it can read and display the content. DONE!

> 24 hourOk, set up was kind of a pain but once I figured it out, everything else went smooth. It comes with a software disk which is useless for me sense my laptop has no disk reader. Basically, you just have to connect it to your internet through the settings on the printer (no apps needed,at least for me) and once it was connected I was able to print thru WiFi from my phone. Havent tried from my laptop yet but Im sure it works the same. The print quality is clean and it prints pretty fast. I printed out a large packet of about 200 pages or so and not one jam. So far, this printer is great and worth the money.

> 24 hourWe have a small law office. Our main printer/copier is having issues, so we tried this one. It works great for small to medium jobs. The quality is very good. It works great for us, up to a few hundred pages at a reasonable speed. Easy to set up even with an older computer. Good wifi reception. Good little printer.

> 24 hourLets be clear, its a good printer. It was easy to set up, has decent features, and the print quality is good. Setup: cabled setup is easy, although if youre not going to go wireless, youll have to supply your own cable, whether USB or Ethernet. I wont dock them for that, although they could have said cable not supplied in their writeups. This just worked out of the box on my Linux system. For Windows, you should probably download drivers from the Lexmark support site. Not sure about Mac. Wireless setup is accomplished from the little display window on the printer. Ive always found this annoying but if you run Windows and want to install their software you can avoid this. But there is nothing hard about it, just a little tedium, and it works as it should, although I always prefer the Ethernet option. (Tip: on your router, assign a fixed IP address to the printer. This makes life easier for non-USB connections.) Okay, how does it work? Just fine. Double sided printing is wonderful, print quality is great, speed is about what youd expect today--- in other words, very good for a home printer used by a few people. (Dont expect to use this in a 20 person office, though.) Its a light-duty printer, very suitable for a home office. Build quality is good. Dont drop it off tall buildings, but dont be afraid to move it around or carry it around. It should stand up just fine. Now, the one gripe. Toner. It comes with the plague of printers in pretty much the last decade, the dreaded starter cartridge. This is a cartridge that is maybe 10% full, meaning you have to buy a real cartridge almost right away. And guess what, the cartridge price is in the same range as the printer price in most cases. Manufacturers dont have to make money on the printer, they make it on the cartridge. The starter is supposed to be good for 500 pages, about one ream. If that holds up, depending on your needs, you might get a week or two in a busy home office, and maybe a month or two of really casual use. So you better order that cartridge. You go to the Lexmark site and ... oh my, they arent selling them. Maybe a little later on? Better hope so, or pretty soon youll have a brick. This is 100% inexcusable. And comparing similar Lexmark printers, the cartridge will be over a hundred dollars. Wow. Usually there are 3rd-party cartridges, often for about 15% of the price. Thats what I always buy for my other printers; I find a reputable vendor and buy from them. But you cannot get the cartridge for this printer anywhere at the time of this writing (late March 2020). Im going to provisionally rate the printer four stars. After all, its a very good product. I would have gone five if the cartridges were available at a fair price. I will revisit this later. If in a month or two you still cant get the cartridge, the rating will be one star. Followup in June 2020: Toner is now available from the manufacturer (pretty expensive) and from at least one third party (a little less expensive but still not cheap).

> 24 hourI had a little trouble setting this up. The instructions are graphical so that they work all the different languages worldwide. The first steps go through getting it out of the box, removing all the shipping tape and padding, putting paper in it and the like. At step 12, it basically says turn it on. Then in step 13 there is a picture of the CD and an arrow to a laptop. My laptop doesn’t have a CD drive. So I tried using it on a desktop Windows 10 PC and it couldn’t find the printer. I assume there was a missing step somewhere that was to allow the printer to access my local WiFi network. Since I have a wired ethernet as well as WiFi, I chose to make a wired connection so that I could go to the next step in the setup program. It did find the printer and that allowed me to go further. I did have to do a bit of troubleshooting to actually get it to print. I got some error message about something (SMTP?) not being set up. I kept trying to print and I thought it still wasn’t working until I went to the room where the printer was located and found that it had been printing and double sided at that. I seem to remember it asking me at some point if I used the wireless app to set up the printer. Since I didn’t have a wireless app that I was aware of, I said no. Notice in the lower right corner of the instructions there is an I with arrow pointing to a WWW for I assume information. Does this mean, if you need help search the web? A web might be helpful. On plus side, the printer works fine, with good print quality. I assume that I will get the wireless part working at some point.
