Greater than one weekI researched several monitors to pair with my new M2 Mac Mini and chose this one. Very happy with it just as it came out of the box. Disclosure: Ive not tried tweaking the picture at all. There is a comprehensive manual that I have merely glanced at. Just out of the box this is simply great.

> 3 dayThis is likely the best monitor that Ive owned. Color, brightness and image definition are excellent. The speakers are oriented away from the user. That is less than ideal. Ful disclosure, I seldom have audio on when operating my desktop. My main gripe is the on/off button. It has dual functionality in that it is also used to access various monitor controls. Not infrequently when I try to power the monitor off, it instead brings up a control menu. A bit annoying. Id prefer two buttons.

> 3 dayThis monitor is interesting. I’ve enjoyed my experience with it overall. However, it took me quite a while to figure out the correct settings to be able to use it. The default settings have extremely high contrast. Reds were appearing as some sort of neon red/pink color. I got it figured out after a lot of trial and error. One of the big reasons I got this monitor was so that I could use a single usb-c cord for charging (Mac) and attaching to the monitor. Unfortunately, the monitor doesn’t provide enough power to actually charge the computer. It just dies much more slowly. I use it as my home office computer (graphic design) and it lasts for the whole work day, usually. Then I have to plug into the original charger at night. I didn’t think I would have to do that, so that was a little let down. Anyway, it’s a great monitor overall. Just has a few hiccups that can be worked through.

> 3 dayit darkens and dims, after a few minutes, so I decided to keep, tried to get partial refund but its impossible to get in contact with support, and I didnt want to return it. Seems like a problem with these screens, maybe not a common problem and I got a bad one

> 3 dayThis is a decent monitor for light use. I dont use it for gaming, and I dont use it for high production creative work, where color exactness is really important. But for everyday tasks, such as zoom meetings and email and such, it is very nice and works well. My only complaint with the design is that the stand sticks out too much for my liking. The total footprint of the monitor is about 9 deep, and the stand sticks out about 4 in front of the monitor. I remember when I bought the monitor, I read some reviews that said the built in speakers are ok. They are not. They are as terrible as you would imagine them to be. Also I remember reading that people did not like the nipple that you use to set the ports on the monitor and control other settings. I have not had any problems with that interface. It seems easy enough to me, even if its slightly annoying.

> 3 dayWriting a review for LG UltraFine 27UN850-W. I have been using it for about 2 weeks. Before this model, I bought LG 27U650-W which was the same price in BestBuy as 27UN850-W here, and when I found out i returned it back because its double more the price in BestBuy. LG 27UN850-W is a very good monitor. It produces nice colors. The 4K resolution is great, it produces crisp fonts, good visibility of icons and overall accurate images. The brightness is very good, up to 350 nits when the brightness is 100%. HDR is not good it produces very sharp edges which do not look good. Contrast is 1000:1 which is ok but its not the best. This monitor cannot compare to 4K or 5K Apple monitors, however it is very close to them. More expensive monitors about $800-$1000 would probably output same image and contrast quality as Apple stuio monitors. I found for me the best image and contrast quality for this monitor on Vivid settings with brightness of 85%. Overall, this monitor is very good for office work, it is also good for photo/video design and I am sure it is very good for gaming which I didnt try yet.

> 3 dayThe screen itself is pretty good in most aspects for the price, except HDR. I tested the monitor with Windows, Mac, PS4, and PS5 in HDR, the colors just do not look right compared to my TV (Sony X900H), no matter how I tune the gamma, contrast, and so on. Peak brightness is okay, but the minimum brightness can be too bright under low light conditions, it is still pretty high compared to the MacBook that I mainly use this screen with. The stand is pretty nice, the screen can be mounted and unmounted quickly, and the screen can be rotated vertically. Although it can only be rotated clockwise by 90°, you cant rotate it counterclockwise, which can be a problem if you had a multi-screen setup and decided to put this monitor closely to the right of another one, the menu joystick at the bottom of the screen would be hard to reach. Speaking of the menu joystick, its not the easiest thing to use, I would prefer a few buttons.

> 3 dayFor the $$, I cant imagine a better monitor. No hiccups at all. For keyboard brightness controls, you can find a few apps to accomplish that. I wish it had automatic brightness control, but OK. The curved stand base is stylish, but awkward on your desk.

Greater than one weekAlthough I am aware this is a productivity monitor first, I was in the market for a 4K60 Monitor that could game well and would not break the bank. I am used to gaming on console so 120FPS support was not something I required as I am satisfied with 60FPS. I did endless amounts of research on various brands in this pricepoint to figure out what would be the best monitor in terms of screen quality and response time. This specific model did not have many reviews in terms of gaming performance, however I did know that LG makes great gaming monitors, this one has a game mode, and I was already looking at the LG 4K model priced below this one. When this model went on sale, I took a risk and purchased it over other highly praised monitors in this price point not knowing if it would be good for gaming, and I can answer that YES it is! Starting with screen quality, brightness is great, contrast is beyond expectation, white, gray, and black uniformity are all top notch, with little to no IPS glow. Colors are accurate and the resolution keeps things sharp. No complaints. For gaming, when you put this monitor directly side by side with a high refresh gaming monitor, it is extremely noticeable that this will not be as fast of a monitor as something gaming dedicated in terms of response time, however it is much more responsive than a normal 60FPS TV or other productivity based screens. I also have a 15 inch macbook retina display, and the response time on this monitor is atleast twice as good. Unless you are an ultra competitive high refresh gaming enthusiast, you will not notice any kind of input lag or poor pixel response in this monitor. It is just as good or better than playing console on a high end TV, and in gaming scenarios, I personally can not tell the difference between the response time on this monitor and my LG gaming monitor. It is only when using UFOTest that the difference becomes very apparent, and this mainly comes down to the difference in FPS. If I ran my dedicated LG gaming monitor at 60FPS, the response would be about the same. In short, if you are used to gaming on console with a TV and are looking for a responsive 60FPS display to prioritize image quality and play mostly singly player games with high settings, get this one and you will not have any regrets. If you are looking for the fastest thing in gaming and play mostly multiplayer competitive games you shouldnt even be reading this review. If you CAN afford it, I would highly recommend a 4K120 gaming monitor for the best of both worlds. In this price point with realistic expectations in mind, this is a fantastic monitor!

> 3 dayI purchased this after returning the Samsung M80B as it gave me a headache. This thing had perfect color (for my needs at least) out of the box. Pros: Easy to set up Tons of connections options Stand has the perfect tension for going up and down Picture looks great even if the blacks cannot get as dark as a VA panel Very easy on the eyes Cons: I dont like the control button placement on the bottom. I have a controller that I have to move every time I need to get to it Contrast is not quite as rich as the Samsung VA panel I returned Not a native resolution to my Mac Studio although I dont have the wallet for the 5k version
