> 3 dayI use this monitor to edit in Lightroom and Final Cut and it is really good especially because I can connect my MacBook to it via thunderbolt. The only time I see issues is when im gaming! The the monitor sometimes glitches and its not very good with dark settings but other than that the colors are perfect if youre just editing or making content.

> 3 dayHave been using this for a few months now for my M1 MacBook Pro. This works great and has the benefit of being able to connect to the MacBook using a single, USB-C cable. Pros: - the picture is nice and clear - works flawlessly on M1 MBP - IPS Cons: - Wish the refresh rate were higher than 60hz - Wish you could daisy-chain these monitors together I feel the pros outweigh the cons. Love this monitor and would purchase it again for my WFH setup. Not recommended for gaming.

10-04-2025Im not going to write a long review, but Im a programmer and this monitor is the perfect size for my desk and the resolution gives me just the right amount of real estate. Im sure its good for gaming to, but I have tried that at all. One thing that really impressed me is that I plugged the included USB-C cable into my laptop (very new Lenovo) and it powers the laptop and does video. My whole setup has just one power plug now, which is amazing! My laptop charger now stays in its bag.

> 3 dayWriting a review for LG UltraFine 27UN850-W. I have been using it for about 2 weeks. Before this model, I bought LG 27U650-W which was the same price in BestBuy as 27UN850-W here, and when I found out i returned it back because its double more the price in BestBuy. LG 27UN850-W is a very good monitor. It produces nice colors. The 4K resolution is great, it produces crisp fonts, good visibility of icons and overall accurate images. The brightness is very good, up to 350 nits when the brightness is 100%. HDR is not good it produces very sharp edges which do not look good. Contrast is 1000:1 which is ok but its not the best. This monitor cannot compare to 4K or 5K Apple monitors, however it is very close to them. More expensive monitors about $800-$1000 would probably output same image and contrast quality as Apple stuio monitors. I found for me the best image and contrast quality for this monitor on Vivid settings with brightness of 85%. Overall, this monitor is very good for office work, it is also good for photo/video design and I am sure it is very good for gaming which I didnt try yet.

> 3 dayI’ve had this monitor a few weeks. I noticed the disc it came with was not in a sleeve, just loosely thrown in there. It made me think perhaps this was a return, but I can’t be sure because the rest of the items looked to be packaged correctly… I was frustrated at first because the provided USB-C cable didn’t work with my M1 MacBook Pro. I thought I had received a dud. Looked up some troubleshooting options and nothing was working. I packed it up to return. The day I was going to send it back I decided to check online again for any options. I saw a reddit post from that morning where someone said they had to get a new Thunderbolt 3 cable for the monitor to successfully recognize their M1 Mac. I ran to the store to get one and voila! It worked. The cable was $40 which adds to the cost of this thing, but it’s much cheaper than the 5k option (for the 27inch monitor) they sell at the Apple Store. Overall, I’m really happy with it for the price. I love the single-cable life—no dongles needed since my accessories connect to the monitor itself—making switching laptops from work to personal at my desk easy (with a good double laptop holder). I also think it does a good job of waking in sync with the laptop when I press on the keyboard or move the mouse.

> 3 dayI bought this monitor to match the one I bought 5 years ago. It’s now half the price it was back then. Worth it.

> 3 dayI purchased this after returning the Samsung M80B as it gave me a headache. This thing had perfect color (for my needs at least) out of the box. Pros: Easy to set up Tons of connections options Stand has the perfect tension for going up and down Picture looks great even if the blacks cannot get as dark as a VA panel Very easy on the eyes Cons: I dont like the control button placement on the bottom. I have a controller that I have to move every time I need to get to it Contrast is not quite as rich as the Samsung VA panel I returned Not a native resolution to my Mac Studio although I dont have the wallet for the 5k version

> 3 dayBought following a bunch of online research in which I compared 15 different monitors. Ive been very happy with this monitor in the 2 weeks Ive had it. Works great with my 2020 M1 MacBook Air using the USB-C cable thats included with the monitor. (Finding a monitor compatible with that computer was a key deciding factor for me.) The picture quality is plenty crisp and a good deal for the $480 price I paid. Ive used the ~$1200 5K LG monitor that Apple recommends, but it has ghosting issues (traces of high-brightness content take a while to decay after windows are moved around) that made me question whether the 5K was worth the price. This 4K monitor feels like a solid value in a good price/performance niche and Im glad I chose it. I mainly use it for coding and day-to-day web/email/etc. with a bit of graphics work and its done well for me in all those categories.

> 3 dayThis is a decent monitor for light use. I dont use it for gaming, and I dont use it for high production creative work, where color exactness is really important. But for everyday tasks, such as zoom meetings and email and such, it is very nice and works well. My only complaint with the design is that the stand sticks out too much for my liking. The total footprint of the monitor is about 9 deep, and the stand sticks out about 4 in front of the monitor. I remember when I bought the monitor, I read some reviews that said the built in speakers are ok. They are not. They are as terrible as you would imagine them to be. Also I remember reading that people did not like the nipple that you use to set the ports on the monitor and control other settings. I have not had any problems with that interface. It seems easy enough to me, even if its slightly annoying.
