when you install a strong GPU you start thinking about how best to utilize it. do you go 27 inch 4k, or do you go with 1440p ultrawide? obviously, if youre reading this youre seriously considering the latter option. Im running a 3090/10900k/32gb ram rig with this monitor and you can max out rdr2 and reasonably get around 90fps. I personally aim for 60fps in that particular game with upscaling/TSS though. it looks fantastic and the field of view you get from ultrawide gameplay is awesome. just beware that the extra real estate is more taxing on your rig. could be that you have to downgrade your settings to accommodate the width, and I dont personally think itd be worth it unless you can get 60 frames. thats just my opinion. the monitor itself is great, just make sure your rig is up to it for your standards of graphical performance

Let me preface this by saying that I was super worried by this monitor because it would flicker black every 5 seconds. I really didnt want to return it because it had perfect uniformity and no dead pixels. After doing some troubleshooting such as reseating my gpu, the flickering went down to about every 5 minutes. This was both from HDMI and DP ports at all refresh rates. After further research I decided to purchase a new DP cable since many say the included one isnt very good. After using the new cable I havent had any flickering for the entire day. LG should really have better QC on their cables because this could be causing others to RMA the entire monitor possibly due to the cable. The monitor itself has gorgeous colors but only in SDR, the HDR makes it worse and if you have a dark environment your blacks will be muddied and grey. All in all I dont think I can go back to anything else but ultradwide now. The extra width makes it so much more immersive and glad that so many games support it. Its a bigger difference than 4K for PC gaming.

This is a review for the LG 34GP83A-B. Wow! I am an avid gamer who plays all genres, from fast-paced competitive FPS games, Open world RPGs and real-time strategy games and also watch a lot of videos and movies on my PC. I did a lot of research before choosing this monitor and it did not disappoint. This appears to be the exact same panel as the LG 34GN850 that was released several months prior for $1000 with the only difference being the logo on the back and less cables included in the box. Coming from a 27 Acer Predator IPS, which I believed to be one of the best gaming monitors, This LG UltraGear completely destroys it. The Colors are extremely accurate and the response time, while not a true 1ms GtG, is still faster and smoother than any monitor Ive ever used. The 10-bit panel at 144hz is essential for color accuracy while maintaining butter smooth motion. Overclocking to 160hz lowers the panel to 8-bit, but I cant tell the difference between 144hz and 160hz so I just leave it at 144hz to get the color advantage of a 10-bit panel. My only complaints is that the monitor does not have a dedicated G-Sync module, which I feel like an $800 monitor should have. That being said, it is Gsync Compatible and certified by Nvidia to work with Gsync, and I have had no screen tearing unless the framerate drops below 50fps as the freesync premium only supports a minimum of 48fps. This monitor has HDR10 support and is HDR400 certified but I would have liked the monitor to be brighter. Peak brightness is just over 400 nits, which is plenty bright for most use-cases but for HDR content, 400 nits just isnt quite enough to get an immersive HDR experience. Overall, this is BY FAR the fastest, smoothest and most satisfying gaming monitor Ive ever used. It is worth ever penny at $799 and I would highly recommend it.

This is the first “high end” monitor I’ve ever bought. I reviewed monitors for a long time, pulled the trigger on this one. I am replacing 2 22” 1080 VA 60hz panels and this thing is amazing. I highly recommend for anyone who is doing any type of content creation, works on their computer a lot. Only thing I would honestly change, but it’s not a common feature I don’t think, is a dedicated power button and a dedicated input switch toggle. But it’s not a deal breaker at all.

Im mostly writing this to inform other Linux users who use Nvidia GPUs my experience with the UltraGear, and not hey look at me Im a Linux user. The Distro I use is KDE-Neon, RTX 2060 Super, version 470 drivers. For me, Gsync works out of the box. You will need to turn off your Compositor for Gsync to activate. I have not tested Freesync but I assume it would work since thats up to the monitor. I was dreading the first time I turned the monitor, since I had read other reviews here talk about dead pixels, which happens on all monitors, and unfortunately when I turned it on I found 3 spots that had 4 or 5 dead pixels. Fortunately, I quickly fixed them and theyve stayed on since. If you find dead pixels on your monitor, there is a trick you can do by lightly massaging, in a circular motion, the area of the dead pixel with the tip of your finger or thumb. Youll want your monitor on while doing this and the easiest way to see the dead pixels is to full screen a very bright, white image. Back-light bleed is an unfortunate downside of IPS screens, and my screen does have some, but its extremely minimal and only in the corners, and the amount of bleed is very even on each corner which was very nice. Ive read some reviews where people have showed their distaste with a Vignetting effect along the top of the screen. I personally have noticed absolutely no vignetting on my screen. The stand is very slim, but does take up a large footprint, and if your desk is cramped or shallow, you may have to make space or may find that its just too close to your face to be comfortable. My 20 deep desk just isnt enough space for a comfortable viewing distance. If your desk also has a built on shelf above where the monitor sits, you will want to measure the space so youre not surprised when it doesnt fit into it. The supplied DisplayPort Cable is plenty adequate for 3440x1440 at 160hz. Mine did not come with a Type A to Type B USB cable to use the USB pass-through ports on the monitor. I believe my box may have been opened before since one of the hand holes for the styrofoam was broken, and the USB cable may have been taken. Brightness is substantial, Ive never seen another monitor this bright before. But thats coming from someone who has been using 2 ASUS PB278Qs for the past 10 years. Since my screen has very minimal back-light bleed, the blacks are very dark, even for an IPS. The menu navigation is very straightforward and responsive. 8 different modes. The fake HDR mode is a gimmick, but does have very high contrast. The 160hz overclock setting works as intended. Gamer 1 is the setting I use at all times. There is a quick select outside of the menu to change modes.

LG always has been my favorite tv/ monitor company forever and sorry to say but this product fell short from expectations. One of the most important things I check in monitors is if they have a Backlight bleeding. To me this the holy grail of QA for a product like this. If the unit like this one has it so bad, it means that there will be some more issues. Im returning this. I dont remember seeing one so bad since the first flat panel tvs from 2004.

I normally sit in bed, or on the couch and game on a big screen. Well, I had to make a home office real quick due to covid and just put a small table in front of the living room big screen. Not optimum. While it is 4k, everything had to be so big to be readable. I put up with it as I had no long term need for a home office. Well, now I do, as work will be a mix of onsite/home permanently. This widescreen ticked all the boxes, supports GSYNC, QHD 1440, fast refresh, good reviews, 144hz. I am very happy with this. It is very sharp, with even brightness across the screen, no dead pixels, and good color. So easy on the eyes. I hooked up my work laptop and gaming laptop (16gig 3080 graphics) and just wow. I never realized the eyestrain I put up with using a TV as a work monitor. The range of adjustment up/down and tilt is not much but enough for an average person sitting at a typical height table. It supports VESA 100 so you can use a monitor arm or wall mount for greater adjust-ability if needed. I dont hear any electronics whine, the text is so clear, and Skyrim never looked so good. I am upgrading the textures to 4k and installing my other games to the laptop now (its new too) and as they are modded for eyecandy/4k this monitor does not disappoint. UPDATE: Ive now had this almost a year. Only thing I really needed to do, was get an inexpensive monitor clamp-on-desk stand. Now I have tilt, swivel and height adjustments. 3 days a week, I work 8 hours looking at it and still cant get over how sharp and crisp the text is- edge to edge. No eye strain after a long day, and game away on weekends. So glad I didnt just get a basic monitor for work using the work allowance. This came out of my pocket and I am so glad I didnt cheap out on the monitor.

Immerse yourself in the action with this ultra-wide, WQHD Nano IPS curved monitor for gaming. See moving objects on the screen more clearly with a high overclocked* 160 Hz refresh rate and 1ms Motion Blur Reduction. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly, while Black Stabilizer allows you to see them more clearly in the dark. Use the Crosshair feature for enhanced vision and precision in first-person shooters. Adjust the tilt, height, and pivot for the best ergonomics, ensuring that you have the most comfortable viewing position to play your games. *144Hz (O/C 160Hz) refresh rate for PC games only.
