This monitor is legit. Great for designing thanks to the color accurate IPS panel, great for gaming thanks to the low latency/high refresh rate, and its in a not-so gamery package. Theres some flare in the back, but youll more than likely have this against a wall where you wont see it. Easy to recommend, you wont find another monitor that checks this many boxes under $1000. My monitor unfortunately fell off a truck the first time I order. It was being transferred from Amazon to USPS. During that transit they somehow lost a giant monitor box.. Im a little mad not because I had to wait longer, but because I lost out on a great price drop on this monitor. Tip, choose the option to put this monitor inside a descete box during checkout. When I did that on my reorder, it came literally the next day without any hitch.

If you have a larger decent 1080p 144hz monitor you will not see or experience a significant diffetence. You will most likely be annoyed by the raised blacks and strangely exaggerated colors. I used a colorimeter to calibrate it. It is better than older tech in some subtle ways and much worse in some significantly irritating ways. Performance drop going from a good looking 144hz 16x9 screen at 1080p is huge and very abnoxious using a 3070ti which is a very powerful graphics card. Build quality is noticably worst than older predator monitors. It has virtually no features compared to my older predator which had much better blacks on top of eye tracking built in. The wide screen is very nice for desktop work but is it hundreds of dollars nice? 50/50 on that. Ultimately it leaves a very underwhelming impression.

I am coming from a 27” 16x9 Benq gaming monitor and was initially worried about the monitor feeling smaller due to the vertical screen size. Turns out a 35” ultra wide has the exact same vertical screen size as a 27” 16x9, the dimensions I read included the bezel which is smaller on this screen, so I have the same screen height plus a ton of added width. Second I read that the LG doesn’t have very high brightness, but , like with my LG OLED tv, brightness isn’t everything! The picture quality is outstanding and I don’t come even close to max brightness settings on the monitor. I don’t need any more than what it outputs. Third I worried about Gsync, but my computer immediately recognized it and it worked perfectly out of the box with no issues. Finally I was worried about dead pixels or other defects. I have no dead pixels or any other defects, it’s perfect. Super happy so far, will update after I use it for longer. Update 6 months - monitor is beautiful and is working flawlessly. Loving the option to add a ‘crosshair”, works great!

I just got a monitor with a dead pixel. Therefore, I put 3. I understand that if I ask for a replacement, I have to wait too long in the hope that the next purchase will not have 2 or 5. Its a shame for $ 820.

Just like you, I was afraid, $800 isnt cheap for me. Some people in the reviews here seem upset specially about dead pixels, but I ended up going with this one monitor (lg 34gp83a-b) because of all the good specs it has on paper. After more than a month of usage I can tell you that Im in love with it. I spend hours daily working with it and its not exhausting at all. The higher refresh rate, curved screen, pixel density and excellent colors make it very comfortable to work with, plus now I have a ton of screen space from which I can just click and drag stuff everywhere, it makes work fun. I didnt go with the Gigabyte M34WQ because I fell in love with curved monitors (later on that monitor reviews I read people complaining on it being exhausting to work on after a while because of the flat screen but I suppose that is a matter of personal taste. I didnt go with the Asus VG34VQL1B because on some reviews I read people complaining about the color smearing which honestly I dont think you would notice unless you were a monitor sommelier. One thing you should know before buying it is that you need a displayport capable computer (make sure your computer and the gpu supports displayport) it has an hdmi port but it is limited to 85hz. Other than that, this is the best monitor right now in its segment. Hope this helps!

Overall I am happy with the monitor, but I expected to have atleast a USB C input.

Replaced some old 27s with these. Picture and performance are amazing. 10-bit color @ 144hz on both of them. Games are fluid and beautiful. Text and charts are clear and sharp. The wide format gives plenty of space. Two displayPort connects instead of 1DP 2HDMI would be nice, but I knew this going in so no issue. The only true flaw concerns DisplayPort deep sleep mode. Most DP monitors have this but many provide a way to disable it. The lack of this feature causes Windows to think the monitor is gone when it enters deep sleep. On waking up, Windows will arrange ALL of your windows on your main monitor, which is extremely annoying. There are numerous people screaming about this online, but so far LG has done nothing, and it affects most if not all of their DisplayPort monitors. There are also numerous fixes online, none of which work. Summary: absolutely get this monitor if you will only be using one screen, and still get it if you can either deal with not sleeping them, or arranging the windows yourself.

I got this monitor for sale 25% and I instantly bought it. Soo far the monitor doesnt have dead pixels :) WOOO. I got lucky on the shipping. Pros: Colors are vibrant and pop off Fast response times Cons: HDR is too dark lol The stand takes lots of space and gotta consider bigger desk for it

If youre in doubt at all, check out the review of this screen on RTings. I have two monitors set up, and moving things around on this screen vs. the other is absolutely night and day. LG really nailed it with the LCD pixel color transition math. Many good screens will still show a lot of blur when moving e.g. a window with sharp edges between dark grey and darker grey, but this screen stays super sharp on those same edges. If you like retro-style games with things moving fast in 2D fields, especially emulators playing games that were designed for zero-blur CRT televisions, thats a feature to go for. It turns on quickly, times out to sleep when the DisplayPort source goes to sleep, and you can set it so it has minimal light when in standby. The stand does not swivel, but you can put the screen on top of something like a piece of scrap plywood or posterboard (so the rubber feet dont grip) and that will spin. Honestly though, what you really want to do at this price point is get an articulating desk mount arm and VESA mount the screen. Theres a bit of a reflectivity issue. This screen is a concave reflector lens, with a focal length of about your usual sitting distance. Which sounds great, but it does mean if theres anything bright behind you, or visible reflected in a mirror behind you, this screen has just enough reflectivity that it will sometimes focus a dim blurry image of the light source that fills the entire screen. Ive never had that in a monitor before, not even my previous Asus ROG screen that was the same size and curvature. All navigation is done with a single joystick control, including turning the screen off. (Which does make it a bit difficult to turn the screen off, but I almost never want to do that. It goes to sleep automatically when the attached computer shuts down.) Whats good about the joystick control vs. other brands, is its centrally located right behind a visual feature that makes it really easy to find by touch, and it is FULLY RECESSED. Im glad I bought this screen, but the only reason I had to drop the significant cost is my previous monitor did not have that joystick recessed, and it got broken off while moving the screen around, rendering the still-functioning monitor useless because the menu could no longer be accessed. This joystick is in a place that will not do that! I dont find the menus very intuitive, they are over-stylized and changed navigation paradigms just to be different. Imagine someone took a good Wustoff kitchen knife set, then went to Toys R Us and glued a bunch of plastic toy sword handles on top of the original handles, and fit the knife set back into a bunch of belt and backstrap holsters on a 2-foot tall plastic ninja robot. Thats what using the menu is like on LG gaming screens now. OK, it might appear to people under 12, but all youve done is make everything harder to find, slower to get at, and clunky to use. I wish they would stop it, but hey you dont have to get in the menu very often, so its still a 5-star screen.

I got this monitor as it was on sale, but now that I am using it, it is not very bright. Now mind you I also have Samsung amazing Odyssey monitors, 28 and 49 as my primary use for gaming devices, but compared to my 34-Inch Lenovo you can see this lacks in the brightness department. Good thing I got for a low price and will only be using it for work stuff. Wish it was more vibrant with the colors and had more menu options to adjust the picture, so maybe I can squeeze some brightness out, but nope. LG has a second strike in my book as a brand.
