Pros: - 144Hz is smooth. I came from using a 60Hz monitor before this and the higher refresh rate is a night and day difference. It even has an option to overclock the monitor to 160Hz in the settings. - I do not work expertly with colors, but my amateur opinion is that the colors look great. I was using an LG IPS prior to this but these colors are even better. - Having Freesync/Gsync going down to 48hz is nice, especially at this high resolution where you may not be able to pushing games consistently at 60fps depending on your hardware. - It reportedly uses the same panel as the 34GN850-B, which is being sold for $200 more. I did a bit of research before purchasing and found no meaningful difference between the two, so this is certainly a better deal. - The curve is not too aggressive. I do not like curved panels for the sake of being curved, but I feel at this aspect ratio and size, this amount of curvature feels right and is appreciated. Cons: - If you use a multi-monitor setup, you will encounter issues with Deep Sleep. Upon waking your computer after it has been idle, all your windows will re-arrange themselves as if the 34GP83A-B had been unplugged momentarily. LG support has so far not been helpful on this. Some quick online research shows other users experience this same issue, even on other LG UltraGear models. As of 12/5/2020, LG has not fixed this issue. (This can be very annoying, and I would have given this monitor 5 stars if not for this) - Do not expect HDR to look great on this monitor. HDR400 certification is not enough for an enjoyable HDR experience so if that is a requirement, you should look elsewhere. Other Notes: - I do sometimes connect my 2019 MacBook Pro to this monitor via HDMI using the official Apple dongle. It outputs the full native resolution, but only at 50hz. It would have been nice to at least have 60hz. Unfortunately, I am not sure if if this is a limitation of my HDMI cables. - No comments on the included stand since I am using my own VESA mount.

**Update after 6 weeks**: I am docking two stars, mostly because they never sent the missing cable (despite spending an hour dealing with customer support to get it ordered)... but also because the OSD software is super klunky/slow. This is still a really good monitor, but if I were to do it again Id probably spend the extra for the 950G variant. --- Works amazingly well, especially after a few minutes of the usual new monitor adjusting/configuring. Yes there are more expensive models out there, but I did a ton of research and feel like this hits the sweet spot for value/performance. - Mine arrived with no dead pixels, and the backlight bleed is minimal - mostly just in the lower right corner. (I hardly notice it, and only in really dark backgrounds.) - The curve on this is more subtle vs the Samsung gaming monitors, and I prefer this since I also use this monitor for work/office stuff too. - Colors look great, no matter what Im doing... gaming, working, movies. - Ive seen no ghosting/halo-ing or other weirdness during gaming. Response times are fantastic, and G-sync compatibility works perfectly in my experiences so far. (Im driving everything with a 3080 12Gb, so YMMV haha) - Games that support 21:9 look amazing! (And those that dont just have black bars on the side, and its no big deal at all.) - Watching movies shot in 21:9 is an incredible experience, especially with the slight curve! Combined with my studio monitors and a subwoofer, Ive suddenly got myself a great personal theater at my desk. Only a couple cons: - Mine was shipped without the USB-B to USB-A uplink cable, which is needed to make use of the monitors USB ports, update the OSD software, etc. (But they are sending me one now, so Im not docking the stars rating.) - The build quality feels kind of cheap, and everything is just basic black plastic. Neither pro/con: - I didnt use the included monitor stand, as I mounted mine on a VESA arm right out of the box. I will say it feels heavy/solid, though - but its also really ugly. (It looks like a boomerang made by Klingons, haha.)

Picture is a huge upgrade over 1920 /1080p , ultra wide 34inch is huge for pc gaming, no dead pixels! For $300 this is a must buy!

Wanted this for a couple years but didnt want to pay $800+. Snagged this for $599 on the Amazon sale recently and am very happy. Have owned a few other ips 165hz monitors and the colors on this one are great out of the box thankfully, dont like messing with settings too much. 160hz overclock works fine, leave it in the fast response setting. Havent tried HDR so cant comment. Great if you prefer colors that pop over contrast ratio. No dead pixels and your usual ips glow but this one is the best out of my other monitors. Once again from LG the provided DP cable is about 4 feet so if your computer isnt next to the monitor, consider buying a longer one. I bought one from Ivanky. I have the 32GN850 and I could never get the colors right but this ultrawide is good. I have a 3080 and havent noticed much dip in performance from my 32 and 27 inch 1440. Height adjustable and tilt, thats it. Was on the fence for a long time but glad I made the purchase

There is no noticeable smearing/ghosting when gaming.. My other Dell VA 165HZ monitor has horrible ghosting/smearing and a weird rainbow affect when viewing dark content. I was hoping that this panel had none of that and was very impressed. I only notice any ghosting when scrolling on twitter because of the deep black background/white textss. There is no noticeable ghosting on any other applications nor have I noticed it while gaming even in competitive high-fps games & in dark environments. Response times seem to be better then on the Odyssey G5 34 & other budget Dell VA panels. I did not have any dead pixels Got this for $296, nothing is available as good or better then this monitor for that price so I cant complain. Truly suprised how cheap it is and what you receive.

The first one right out of the box had a bad Display Port (it only has one). The HDMI port worked perfectly fine BUT as we know you cant take full advantage of this monitor without using the Display Port due to the resolution and refresh rate. I even spent a ton of time troubleshooting it, if you google the issue a bunch of people reported similar issues on other LG monitors (none were reported for this one so its not model specific). There were some fixes like letting the power completely drain overnight but this didnt work for me and I had to begrudgingly return it and wait for another. The cool thing was Amazon didnt allow for an exchange so I had to do a full return and repurchase - but when I did the monitor went on sale so I saved even more money so it all worked out in the end. I had just bought the 850 version of this monitor before I found out this is a clone to it for a few hundred dollars cheaper. I had both side by side and they are identical. Reviews stated that the back of the monitor was different between the two versions and there were reports of different OSD interfaces, as of November 2020 this is no longer the case, the only way you can tell the difference is looking at the sticker that has the model number listed. Oh and the cardboard boxes had slightly different sized text on them and obviously the 850 has a nice cardboard box for the accessories and extra HDMI cables if we really want to get technical... Zero issues with back-lighting. Had to adjust colors a bit so not sure if the 850 has better calibration or if just a fluke. Gsync works great (compatible with Gsync, does not have the chip built in however). Very high quality monitor and surprisingly light but I guess thats how modern screens are. This was significantly lighter than the 27inch it replaced so the articulating monitor arm moves like a dream now. Very happy with the screen, only giving it 4 stars because of the first one being DOA and seemingly something that wouldnt have cropped after it left the factory...

Pro: Good image quality monitor, color accurate, brightness bright enough brighter than my old acer . Nice compact features bake in the monitor. The response time it 1-2ms but this nano ips panel promised it will provide 1ms response I guess it have to do with the graphics card. Nvidia g-sync enabled monitor. Refresh rate is 144hz but it can go much higher than that it is exactly 160hz. Cons: HDR not great. Usb cable not provided so prepare one if you want to use the onscreen control and customization. No pic by pic mode: not like the biggest brother the 38inch or 48inch (Tech YouTuber review) which you can have two input source side by side. Lg should include a 5w or lower like 2w speaker inside the monitor but they didn’t even though something that screw me up is that the monitor have a bee sound when you turn on I guess that it made by some type of hardware resistor or transistor. The most important is the stand being this monitor that big: stand are ok but bullky and the base take half of my desk space. Also the stand it will bring the monitor closer to you, I wish this monitor bdoesn have the headphones hold on the back of the stand so I can bring my monitor back a little bit. Finally my main complain is that this stand is made with medium quality, if you move your desk or shake or even little force it will make the monitor shake crazy and that is bad for your eye if your monitor is shaking while you looking. I will update more in the future

Display is crisp and clean, and can push 160hz when in overclock mode. Not only is it great for games and movies, but also for productivity. The only issue I have with it is the monitors joystick control to change sources and settings. The up input no longer works. I can still access every setting, but in order for me to go back up in the settings list, I have to keep pressing down to eventually loop back to it. Very annoying, but technically it still works. Cant return the device or RMA it since I already threw away the box, and I dont think itll be easy shipping this 34 inch curved monitor without custom styrofoam bracing (like the one that came with its packaging). So if you can, dont throw away the box.
