Greater than one weekI love this product. I am painting on glass bottles with acrylics, so I was afraid they wouldnt be opaque with out many many layers. So I decided to invest in this to save paint, and to create some texture. It didnt provide as much texture as desired, but I also didnt try to do a second coat. Overall, I love this product, and I will buy again when I run out. And probably in a larger container. I can also take a whack at making my own canvases! So excited.

> 3 dayI use this gesso for making hand painted greeting cards. First I spray a clear sealer, then use Liquitex gesso, then paint the background and then the roses. This gesso works very well!

> 3 dayAfter all these years of artwork, this is the first time I have tried the Liquitex brand of Gesso. I had it on my list of October purchase, but thanks to Amazon keeping me posted on increases and decreases on all the goodies I want to purchase, I received the notification that the Liquitex Gesso was on sale for half price. I promptly ordered it because I had no idea how long the sale would last. I put it to use this evening on an art project for a competition. Ive always applied Gesso with a brush, but decided to use an art spatula. This was the smoothest Gesso I have ever EVER used. Another plus was the slower drying time so that I could work with the Gesso across a large surface. And something I am very thankful for was the flip cap lid with a hole which allowed me to have control over the amount of Gesso pouring out. All my other Gesso had a jar lid. Even though the spatula method created texture that I liked for an old wood plank appearance, the Gesso dried more smooth without exaggerated lines -- which is what I really needed. I really didnt know what to expect, but this Liquitex Gesso has proved to be all I was hoping for. Thank you, Liquitex and Amazon, for a great product. Additional note: This morning I applied a double thick layer of Gesso to the front of my project to eliminate my previous butched up efforts from mixing glaze wiht too much watercolor pigment. I started spreading the Liquitex GESSO with a brush when I remembered watching a painter use a kitchen spatula. So I started using the silicone cake spatula and am VERY happy with the results. My gesso looks great.
