Best gesso, love that you can pour it straight from the bottle.

This page covers several Liquitex Gesso products so I will offer my comparison of those I have used. Liquitex Professional Clear Gesso: Interesting stuff, which you would want to use for its specific properties, rather than general use. Clear gesso is kind of fun if you have an interesting background you want to preserve while prepping it to take other materials. This gesso, additionally, is extremely toothy. It is nice for oil pastels, or any other medium that really does well with something to stick to. I would not want to use it for soft pastels, though, if you like to smooth them with your fingers. It is very gritty and would probably scratch your skin if you rubbed it too much. Liquitex Professional Gesso (white): a free flowing gesso with medium to strong pigment coverage. If you want to cover up the background completely you will probably want two layers. Liquitex Basics Acrylic Gesso: a slightly heavy bodied gesso with light to medium pigment coverage. About similar in tooth to the professional, when dry. I did a comparison test of the two white gesso products and found that the Basics is thicker but less pigmented, while the Professional is wetter, but more strongly pigmented. They are both quality products and which would be better really depends on your application.

This Gesso leaves a very even finish and the color is a really nice deep shade of black. Just the right amount of texture to paint over and its never streaky.

Works great with posca markers. I put on two things layers, but I think one would be sufficient too. Nice grit and doesnt wear down the nibs like painting directly on the canvas would. Got the clear, definitely want to get white down the line.

Its gesso. White. The coverage was pretty good; I primed two new canvases with it and covered up some damage and staining on an old one with two quick coats maybe 10 minutes after one another. No real complaints. Rinsed the brush with water and then moved onto the next thing. What more do you need here, folks? Its gesso, I have since confirmed it for everyone.
