> 3 dayThe minute I recieved this product I knew it was fake. The label and bottle are completely different than Liquitex brands. I have bought tons of their products, just never from Amazon. I opened it and tested the product too and I can tell you its just a different cheap gesso. Defintiely not Liquitex.

08-06-2025I purchased this clear gesso to prep my Paint By Numbers canvas and it worked perfectly which helps stop the canvas soaking up the paint so much with a better even coverage. I just took a small folded piece of brown paper bag to lightly go over the surface after the gesso dried to smooth some of the roughness out!

> 3 dayThis gesso worked great. I had a green paper backed canvas for a mural job. The green color was maintained with just a slight matte overlay. It left a great surface that allowed smooth strokes. The gesso went futher than I anticipated so there is plenty left for more projects.

Greater than one weekThis was highly recommended in a news letter from Arizona gourds. I will use it with prisma colored pencils. Have not use yet, but well known artist in gourds use it all the time.

> 3 dayI got this super fast, and it worked well. It is just a tiny bit thicker than the gesso I was used to, but it spread nicely provided what seemed to be a great base for the paint to come!

> 3 dayYou can’t beat Liquitex! Love their gesso...and love their acrylics. I use their gesso as a ground for my paintings, or to cover up layers I don’t love, so I can paint over them. Works like a charm!

> 3 dayI needed some more Gesso to cover glass bottles and this works very well. Its thick and sponges on easily, leaving no sponge marks when it dries, the surface looks smooth as if were sprayed on.

Greater than one weekA few decades ago, Liquitex, and other brands, were pushing Acrylic Gesso, which is what this is. Liquitex used a lot more acrylic and less filler (white pigment with chalk or something like silica.) So it was less opaque, less absorbent than traditional gesso, and more flexible. 2-3 coats to cover a panel. If you are looking for a great dry, absorbent gesso, with less acrylic and more white coverage, usually one coat, Dan Smith makes the best gesso Ive ever used. (Dan Smiths Worlds best gesso)

> 3 dayGood gesso to use weather it’s for preparing a canvas or in the actual painting itself.
