> 3 dayMy rats love hammocks, however, they have a tendency to pee on them and chew holes in them, so each hammock would only last about a month or two before it had to be thrown out. I found this Critter Pod, and I figured I would try it...I am SO happy with it. My boys sleep in it every day, and I just occasionally wash it out with soap and water and its as good as new. The hooks really seem like they wouldnt be very secure, but so far it hasnt fallen down. My only complaint is that I wish it were a bit bigger. Its a bit of a tight squeeze for my two male rats, but then again they like sleeping in tiny spaces.

> 3 dayI have the hardest time putting it upside down. But once its on it stays. I have two full grown male rats both fit together in it and love it. Easy to clean.

> 3 dayOur two fancy rats love snuggling together in the Large one of these. They pull blankets in when its cold out and then just push them out when they dont need them. We have it hanging from the top wires of the cage.

> 3 dayThey drag all their comfy stuff in it and hate when I have to clean it out. They LOVE lounging in these. Even if they broke I’d get more but they seem really sturdy and have held up for a couple months now.

> 3 dayDefinitely my rats favorite hang out spot, but the tab/hooks that keep it hanging from the top of the cage are looking like they wont last much longer. Ive only had it for 5 months, so thats really disappointing. Now I can only use it on the bottom of the cage because it keeps falling off if hung from the top. Would still purchase again, but the tabs are an issue.

> 3 dayI really like how stable this is. I thought it was a little small at first but my 3 mostly grown ratties fit in it just fine, they rat pile anyway. I dont use the purple house part as its pretty small and takes space away from the hammock part of it. Would definitely buy again.

Greater than one weekMy 2 rats love the space pod! I recommend ordering a large. Nothing bad to say about this product, its sturdy, easy to clean, and easy to assemble. Its my girls favorite hammock!

> 3 dayEvery time I clean their cage, I always struggle to put this pod back together. It got to the point where after setting it up, it would always come apart within minutes. Rats couldn’t enjoy it for long, so I tossed it. The igloo house is much better, but all in all is still made from cheap plastic, but stays together compared to the garbage pod.

18-11-2024Totally in love with this brand. Id love a softer option for my rat babies but they are so destructive when it comes to bedding/hammocks. Game changer....

> 3 dayThis is a great little hideaway for my single male rat, Bug. Rats love to pile into the same nest, so I think 2 males could probably fit comfortably, or perhaps 3 females. Bug is not a chewing kind of rat, but I suspect that other rats who do chew could probably do some damage to the pod, but it would likely take awhile. I love that the pod comes apart for easy cleaning, and the plastic material doesn’t retain odors. I place a piece of old t-shirt in the bottom of the pod just to add comfort for Bug, but it’s not really necessary if you don’t want to do that. I haven’t yet tried hanging the pod from the roof of Bug’s habitat, but he’s very happy with it on the floor of his cage. Once Bug grows a bit more and I can put him in a larger cage with wider bar spacing, I plan to get a second pod that I will suspend from his roof. Another plus is that I’m happy with the color of the pod I received, violet on top and teal on the bottom.
