Lixit Critter Space Pod, Perfect for Small Animals (Small)

I have two female rats, and they both love curling up in this little pod together! I suspended it from the roof of the cage, and its a nice little cozy place for them to hang out. The only drawback with this item is that if you look closely at the little clips on the bottom that you use to hang the pod from the roof, you can see that theyre not very sturdy. Every couple of days I have to reattach the clip, and sometimes Ive seen the pod dangling from the roof by just one clip. Its easy to slide back into place, but a little annoying that it doesnt stay in place once its there. I dont see any practical ways that would work as a DIY fix for this… maybe zip ties (if your rats arent likely to chew through them)? Its cute and the rats like it, but it would be awesome to see that one design flaw fixed. :-)

My 2 rats love the space pod! I recommend ordering a large. Nothing bad to say about this product, its sturdy, easy to clean, and easy to assemble. Its my girls favorite hammock!

I got this for my 2 sugar gliders, as another place for them to hide away in. They both fit comfortably in it, but generally only one is in it at a time. Cleaning it is a breeze. All you have to do is take it apart and wash like anything else. Its generally back in the cage before they notice its gone (I clean while they sleep). I recommend it for other sugar glider parents! Just attach to the top and theyll love it!

I bought this for my rats since they needed some new things for their cage. They hardly come out of it now! Really easy to assemble and take apart, no cracked pieces and everything taken care of. It shipped in a couple days and I was able to hang it right up in the rats cage. You can also put it on the ground of the cage and it works just as well. My boys are quite big though, so its a little bit cramped when they both try and shove themselves inside. But its not a problem since they seem to like sleeping that way.

Reusing cardboard boxes is all good and well, but they get...pretty stinky after a while. I bought two of these for my ratties; one for the male cage, one for the female cage. The girls went right to it, but the boys took a while to get used to it. It helps if you put some fleece shreds or paper towels in it to convince them that its cozy. Note: I dont know how many other peoples rats do this, but my rats will NOT pee or poop inside of their little pods. They will just push their butts out and pee/poop on the outside. As a result, the shelf beneath the pods gets...pretty nasty pretty quickly. Just something to keep in mind.

I have two female rats who love to lounge around in hammocks but one would always chew them up to the point of rendering them completely unusable, leaving them to sleep sadly on the shelf until I bought or made them a new one. This has been great... they dont chew it so I am not constantly replacing hammocks, and it is just too cute to see them poking their faces out of it.

My rats loved this. I thought it was super cool that you can hang it or just put it on the ground. I hung it from the top of their cage. One of the bits that hold it up broke off after about a year of having it. Its not a big deal though, since my rats seemed to like it even more with it sitting on the floor of their cage. I was kind of disappointed that I couldnt pick its colors, but its not a huge deal. Very good product.

Its a bit smaller inside than I thought (I got the large). I have 3 small female rats, and its a tight fit for 2. On the other hand, the legs take up a lot of room. It doesnt fit inside my current cage at all. On the other hand, my current cage is really too small for my rats, I have a double Critter Nation cage coming soon, and I plan to use it there. I dont think it will be a major hang-out, but it will provide another option for the ratties. Overall, not unsatisfied, just wish the bowl was as little bigger.

I have been wanting one of these for years and now that I finally have one my rats dont even use it!!! The boys I have now are worse than my cats, they are so picky about what they like to sleep in. But I know my other rats Ive had over the years would have loved something like this. Stashing it away in storage for the time being, but Im still happy with this purchase! I like that its plastic because if they pee in it or make a mess, all you have to do is wipe with a paper towel. Cant do that with a hammock!
