Lixit Critter Space Pod, Perfect for Small Animals (Small)

I bought this for my chinchilla hoping that it would work for her, and it does! Gidget has been very picky about cage accessories in the past; she refused to enter those woven grass roll-a-nest things and has never once even tried her exercise wheel. So, I was worried she wouldnt be interested, and initially she didnt seem too keen. However, I encouraged her to explore it with some well-placed raisins, and within a few hours she had claimed it for her own! I threw in some scraps of polar fleece and she really seems to enjoy the extra softness. Gidget is hanging out in the space pod as I type this and seems very content. It is just barely big enough for her to get inside and snuggle up (she is fully grown). The only concern I have is that it is made out of plastic and could be easily chewed apart and destroyed. Gidget has done a few test nibbles on it, but hasnt tried to seriously eat or chew it apart yet. Well see how it holds up in the long run, but right now I couldnt be happier with this product. I hung it from the top of the cage like the picture shows, and it went on easily and securely. I only have a small cage (Super Pet My First Home) so its important to use the space well. Being able to hang the pod from the ceiling really added to the amount of usable space in the cage. It doesnt take up huge amounts of space or lose its shape like those hammocks or tents Ive tried, either. If you are looking for a cool bed for your chinchilla, this one is tops!

A must have if your rats chew up hammocks, especially when other rats are sleeping in those hammocks at the time. Also if you have boys that like to mark their beds and your apt does not have a washer and dryer. Easy to clean daily. The first one I ordered came with a broken hook, being that the price is reasonable I just used it on the bottom of the cage and ordered another one which hangs up there perfectly. (also because Im lazy and I dont feel like going to the post office to exchange a product less then $10) The boys love them both, then to stick to the top one in the summer and the bottom in the winter. Great for rats, cannot say for other small pets.

My 2 male rats loved this when I first got them at 1 month old; they would always huddle into whenever it was bed time. Theyre about 3 months old now and they may or may not be fully grown. They can both still fit in it but they dont really share it as much as they used to. Will definitely need to buy them a second one :)

My Rats love this. It is the perfect size. All three of my female adult rats fit in it. It is always occupied with at least one of my fur babies. The color is nice as well. It has two different colors on it and It so happens that I have two cages with both of those colors. I was a little worried that it wouldnt hook up to the top of my cage being my Rat cage is really a giant Bird cage. I figured I can always turn it up side down on a shelf if it didnt hang or use it on my smaller cage. It hooked up to the top just fine. Its flexable so if your bars are farther apart it will still hook on them. I recommend this space Pod to all my fellow rat lovers.

This is hands down the most durable and good quality version of all of the hanging two piece hide pod what ever you want to call it things. Easily lasts 2-3 months longer than the other brands, especially if you have chinchillas like I do that are rough on their cage accessories

My rats love too chew an they almost made it half way threw one leg but both my adult male fit inside it they cuddle in it works great.

My three babies love this thing! I first had it placed on the ground of the cage just to get them used to it and it did take a while but it soon became their favorite sleeping spot! I got the large one and it can hold my three full grown male rats (two dumbos and a fancy) even hanging from the top of the cage it holds them perfectly. It’s the best place for nap time cuddles for them!

This is a great little hideaway for my single male rat, Bug. Rats love to pile into the same nest, so I think 2 males could probably fit comfortably, or perhaps 3 females. Bug is not a chewing kind of rat, but I suspect that other rats who do chew could probably do some damage to the pod, but it would likely take awhile. I love that the pod comes apart for easy cleaning, and the plastic material doesn’t retain odors. I place a piece of old t-shirt in the bottom of the pod just to add comfort for Bug, but it’s not really necessary if you don’t want to do that. I haven’t yet tried hanging the pod from the roof of Bug’s habitat, but he’s very happy with it on the floor of his cage. Once Bug grows a bit more and I can put him in a larger cage with wider bar spacing, I plan to get a second pod that I will suspend from his roof. Another plus is that I’m happy with the color of the pod I received, violet on top and teal on the bottom.

I bought this for our pet rats who love it! However it took 2 shipment to get 2 halves to fit together properly. First one was so ill-fitting that I ordered a second one. The second one came with one half misshapen, so I put half of one shipment with the other half of the second shipment. If that’s confusing, think how I felt when i received 2 imperfect products!

My two rats adored this product, they sleep in it every night despite several other sleeping options. They even make a point of not peeing or defecating in it, which astonished me because theyll pee in just about anything. Super neat design, can hang from the top of the cage or sit on the ground. Sturdy, despite being moved and cleaned several times it hasnt shown any sign of breakage or cracking like plastic often does, its a durable plastic. My rats havent chewed it either, but they arent as destructive as some rats so I cant testify to its chew-proof ability. Will definitely buy again if this one breaks or if I get more rats or maybe just because its so cool I ought to have two. Colors are also the same as shown, in case anyone was wondering.
