> 3 dayMy Granddaughter loves this story. I never read it to my kids, so it was a first for me too. Very prompt delivery too!

> 3 dayMy daughter and I read this book one thousand times! 25 years latter I can still recite the entire poem. A perfect addition to a little girls library. A perfect story, period.

20-11-2024I for one loved the Madeline books growing up and can still recite the first page to the book. Im 30 years old and about 5 weeks away from giving birth to my first child, a daughter. Im hoping that she enjoys Madeline as much as I did when growing up and will share this book with her for many years.

Greater than one weekI love Madeline. I had the dolls and movies while growing up so I got this book for my baby girl. She loves looking at the pictures. The size is really nice because its not small or too big.

> 3 dayThis classic book is great reading to children as soon as they can sit still enough to listen and look. A delightful, warm and imaginative story.

> 3 dayThis book has interesting illustrations but the narrative is just relatively uninspiring and I hesitate to use the word, stupid. I fail to see what others get from reading this apparent classic. Ending a book with, and there is nothing left to say is a rather amateur way to close a childs book. I think there was nothing left to say about a bunch of orphans in an orphanage who were so lonely and so used to just doing what they were told that they were all willing to have an appendicitis just to get out of that place because the story is just plain dark and depressing. Sure, Madeline handles her life with wit and gusto and inner strength embodying herself in the midst of a structured homogeneous system but so what. The story is about a girl who lives with other orphans, dares to be see the world differently from the others and then gets one of her organs out and a huge scar on her stomach in return. Whats the message here? There are more creative ways to say, be a fighter. I give it a two because the illustrating is sort of good.
