> 3 dayI only use this as a hand held dustbuster only. Suction is good, lightweight, charge lasts a long time. Only downside for me is that you must hold the button to keep it running. I would prefer the ability to click it on and off without having my thumb constantly holding it in the ON position. At first I didnt think such a simple thing would matter to me, but after time and depending on the job, I find it annoying that it just doesnt stay on until I click it off.

> 3 dayYou would think “shop” vacuum with it being Makita, but this is better than the last 2 “home” vacuums we’ve had. Great suction, battery lasts longer than listed (30min listed, I get 45min to an hour with 3.0 battery. Convenient holster for hanging.

> 3 dayThis vac is great if you have a dog hair problem on hard floors. The key is to clean or change the filter as needed. The battery included will run for about 20 minutes before fading out. If you want longer battery life, buy an extra.

> 3 dayWe have kids and dogs, so debris and pet hair on the floors and stairs is always an issue. Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming with a traditional machine and attachments is unnecessary laborious and often ineffective, so I wanted something like a dustbuster, but more helpful. I spent a LOT of time researching various battery-powered vacuums. So many products got poor reviews due to internal batteries that fail and cannot be removed or replaced, requiring replacement of the entire product. What sets this product apart is that the battery is rechargeable on an external charging device (which is included with the product), so the battery is replaceable should it ever fail. And so far the battery has been amazing. Weve had vacuum for 3 months, use it about 3-4 times a week, and have only had to charge the battery twice. Makita is a power tool company. Its products are rugged and reliable, yet its lightweight enough for the kids to use. Helping keep the floors clean has actually become fun for them. The different heads are easy to interchange (brush vs. crevice tool, etc.), and the collection area is easy to empty. The machine has just enough suction to get the job done. Its not loud or whiny, but about what I would have expected. It mounts easily to a wall with the mounting mechanism included with the product. I couldnt be happier with this purchase. It was exactly what I was hoping was out there.

Greater than one weekIf you are looking for a cordless vacuum that actually picks things up and the battery doesnt die after 10 minutes, this is for you! I stumbled upon this when I was looking for a cordless stick vacuum. There are a few other popular brands that come up in searches, but this is advertised as a work shop vac and it was the find of the year! Makita is a very well made brand, and the same goes for this product. We have a 2,800 square foot home with mostly tile or wood floors. The floors are dark, and we have a white dog, so you can imagine my annoyance with white dog hair on dark wood floors. Ive been using this for over a month and it works great. Sucks up hair, cereal, leaves and junk brought in from the outside. You can use it with the floor attachment, remove that for corners, or you can remove the long stick arm and use it for a handheld on the stairs (which I do all the time). There is a separate carpet attachment available for order, which I ordered, to use on my carpeted stairs, and I like that attachment as well. I use it 2-3 times per day to touch up my floors, and the charge lasts most of the week! Would highly recommend this cordless vac!

> 3 daySweet little vacuum. And at ~$75.00 for the tool only, at $99.00 for the kit, makes it a great deal including the charger and battery for $25.00. Great suck value for a portable vacuum. Has enough power to gobble nuts and bolts, screws, metal items, and of course anything else. I bought one for the garage and another one for inside the house. I have a smaller super horse power shop vacuum and another larger super shop vacuum but this fills in where you need less suck and no cord. Edit Dec 2019: Soon after I bought this (purchased 2), one had a crack about 1/2 on the canister. For a cheap and easy fix, and just to be cautious I spent a few bucks on a JB Weld Plastic Stick. Wrapped a bead around it to prevent it cracking further and boom no more crack/cracking. I didnt need to, it still worked fine, but figured why not. Other vacuum is doing fine. Would buy these again. For $100 bucks, with a charger, its a steal. I know they have the brushless replacements for this; however, its twice the price for just the vacuum sans battery & charger. If the canister does break you can buy new ones for around $10 bucks. Also bought the cyclone attachment for one of them. Kinda spendy, but man makes emptying it a breeze.

> 3 dayIve had this product for almost four years. Still works as good as the first day. Its great for dog hair on hard floors, and small cleanups. The battery which is basically a power tool battery still holds a charge as well as it did when it was new. A little unpleasant to clean out the filter, but as long as you clean it after each use, it wont build up much of an odor the way a vacuum cleaner bag will or some of the other hand held units that capture animal hair.

> 3 dayI did read other reviews that blue shaft has problems with cracking. I gave this vacuum a try because Makita brand is Usually tough and reliable. I used this vacuum three times... and I have not had it One week. Blue shaft has several fracture lines, this is a huge flaw. I am respectable and careful with my electronics and tools; to have a product last less than a week is truly on Makita. I did give vacuum 2 stars because suction is pretty darn good... I would not be returning this if it did not crack. It’s now November 3rd 2019 and I wanted to update my opinions about this Makita cordless vacuum. Yes... it did bother me that the plastic hose has fracture lines... but honestly at this point it’s just cosmetic and has Nothing to do with how this vacuum performs. Battery charges promptly, hose and receptacle are easy dump/ easy clean. I use this vacuum all the time and it picks up dirt and fur from a kiddo, 2 dogs and a kitty:) I apologize Makita... happy I did not return the vacuum. Cheryl
