> 3 dayLet it be known I searched high and wide before buying this vacuum. While it leaves off a few things I think are indispensible (in a perfect world), I am reviewing it for what it DOES have. I knew before I bought it there was no headlamp, no stand, and had a trigger switch with no lock. BUT...I didn’t want to spend twice as much on a commercial brand with a crappy battery just to get those amenities. In my experience and for my needs an 18volt rechargeable is a minimum. This product has that, AND I can easily purchase an extra or replacement battery. It’s also easy to order more filters (which is prudent if you want the battery to last). I can vacuum 1000 sq ft (hardwood and tile) without losing suction, get ALL THE HAIRBALLS and crumbs in low profile places (like under the fridge), and it is super lightweight. The head pivots/rotates well enough. The one negative that other reviewers have mentioned is that it is NOT made for tall people - I’m only 5’2” and I can just barely extend it arms reach without having to bend over. I assume it will be great for car cleaning so that’s a plus. Overall I would definitely recommend this vacuum if your needs are similar to mine.

> 3 dayDang, I really got the impression that Makita didnt really make this thing. Ive got a ton of cordless products (mostly the 18v stuff) and a bunch of corded stuff from Makita. Why? Cause they work great! and I have never been able to break a Makita product (some of this stuff is going on 20 years old and its been used everyday in brutal work environments!). Ordinarily Makita products really impress and totally exceed expectations --this thing, on the other hand, is just a glorified dust buster IMHO. I expect to pay a higher price for Makita cause it lasts forever and performs flawlessly --Im kinda pissed I paid more for this thing though... YMMV UPDATE: OK, I might have been wrong about this thing but you need the Cyclonic Vacuum Attachment to make it work decent --for me anyway. The attachment will hold much more crud than the base unit and make it much more practical (the stock volume is ridiculously small). Second, its so portable and light that I find Im using it all the time for stairs and any little mess that comes along. In sum, Ive upped this from 2 to 4 stars for ease of use, battery life (just the 3Ah type), and decent volume with the attachment. Still cant give it 5 stars cause its still a little light on sucking power and I really think Makita should either re-design it to hold more volume or include the Cyclonic Attachment with the unit.

> 3 dayFor me, this is an outstanding helpful tool that I am thankful for every day! I have wood floors in my house. I have pets. I have two dyson vacuums which I love. But this makes me dance a jig for a few reasons...its cordless, its lightweight, its small, and it is simple. So, we keep this in the laundry room which is next to the kitchen. We also have a battery charger there, and a battery operated Makita blower. I use this little vacuum to clean up dog hair and cat litter and pieces of grass and debris we bring in from our shoes or dog paws. The canister doesnt hold a lot, but for me it is perfect! I dump it into a trash I have in the backyard, and at the same time, I use the Makita blower to blow off the fabric filter because I cant shake the fur/dust off of it. The little fabric filters are easy to accidently throw in the trash while emptying the canister, so be careful. The little filters are well made out of a felt type material...they have a strong stitching and I cant imagine needing to change it very often if you blow it off to clean it. My system may not work for everyone. I can honestly say if I didnt have the little Makita blower right next to it, I wouldnt love this vacuum as much because the filter would have to be changed so often. This machine is not meant to be strong carpet cleaner. Im unsure why they invented it at all....but I love it for my wood floors because I love clean floors and this helps me EASILY keep them vacuumed.

> 3 dayWith a 4 amp battery, this vacuum will go a long time. The dust cup is easy to clean and the tool is balanced about right. Good suction. Sadly, my wife has seized possession of this vacuum. Overall, this is a keeper.

> 3 dayI recently purchased a new Mikita drill and impact driver and noticed this handheld vacuum. My wife has been looking for a small cordless vacuum so I grabbed this with the idea I will have extra batteries that we could share. She wanted a small cordless for touch up jobs around the house that don’t need the big floor vacuum so we gave this a try and wow pretty impressed. For its size it really does a decent job much better than we expected. Noise level it is a little higher than a cordless drill so not too loud. Battery life seems really good as well. I picked up a spare 4.0 Ah battery to share between the Makita tools we have and the battery is still showing full after several uses. So if you have any Makita cordless tools this would be a good addition to your arsenal. It is great for quick cleanups or in between using the large floor vacuum. The floor attachment works well on hardwood floors and carpet.

> 3 daySweet little vacuum. And at ~$75.00 for the tool only, at $99.00 for the kit, makes it a great deal including the charger and battery for $25.00. Great suck value for a portable vacuum. Has enough power to gobble nuts and bolts, screws, metal items, and of course anything else. I bought one for the garage and another one for inside the house. I have a smaller super horse power shop vacuum and another larger super shop vacuum but this fills in where you need less suck and no cord. Edit Dec 2019: Soon after I bought this (purchased 2), one had a crack about 1/2 on the canister. For a cheap and easy fix, and just to be cautious I spent a few bucks on a JB Weld Plastic Stick. Wrapped a bead around it to prevent it cracking further and boom no more crack/cracking. I didnt need to, it still worked fine, but figured why not. Other vacuum is doing fine. Would buy these again. For $100 bucks, with a charger, its a steal. I know they have the brushless replacements for this; however, its twice the price for just the vacuum sans battery & charger. If the canister does break you can buy new ones for around $10 bucks. Also bought the cyclone attachment for one of them. Kinda spendy, but man makes emptying it a breeze.

> 3 dayReally convenient not to have to deal with a cord and hose to pick up hair, dust and light debris. Suction is adequate but does not compete with my shop vac. Easy to empty and store on included bracket.
