bought this vacum 2 years ago works good! not for thick or shag carpet great for hard wood tile or any hard suface works good on tight weave carpet perfect for me i dont have any shag style carpet, just wanted to add my review after reading others reviews. this vacum is great for quick clean ups before moping and maintenance! not for deep cleaning on carpets you really need somthing that has a motor driven roller brush for that. the plastic tank does crack and break as i saw on others reviews mine has some cracks. when i saw the cracks i odrered a spare tank for $15.00 havent used it yet but i have it just in case. very easy to use and light wieght beats having to plug in a cord and roll it up you spill you can vacum it up and put the vacum away in a minute or 2 very nice

I own Makita 120v powered equipment and one battery powered drill, of which is nearing 32 years and still performs well and stored in the original metal carry case. Throughout those years I’ve noticed several tweaks in hand tools by the top producers, and Makita stood with them, if not, led the way. The most significant improvement is the interchangeable portable & rechargeable power platform. Makita rechargeable 18v power packs can be used with over 200 other Makita portable tools without interchange issues and with four levels of ampere hours. With that said, the Makita XLC02ZB vacuum was purchased after several other machines failed to perform within weeks of use. However, keep in mind this vacuum is not a shop vacuum, or for auto detailing, and should not be used as such. If you are seeking a durable handheld vacuum for quick cleanup of light household debris, I highly recommend you consider Makita’s XLC02ZB coupled with a battery & charger starter kit. There is a similar product offered by Makita. The XLC04ZBX4 vacuum tends to be slightly more brutal to debris with 3 speed options and offers locking accessories, which is helpful when fixing the 191D72-1 cyclonic vacuum attachment w/lock and locking extension tubes. Now that the entire assembly looks like a creature from planet Zargon 4X, you’ll be happy to know a full vacuum belly won’t fall off during those pesky bouts with piles of pet fuzz bunnies. If Makita is reading and listening, there is one improvement they should consider for their stick vacuum lineup. The main tank could be designed to lock in place to the power head with simple key-way locks molded into the components in lieu of a twist friction connection, which tends to loosen when in use, and will eventually wear to uselessness, or turn to Duct Tape as a BFF. Just saying…

    Greater than one week

I have the Milwaukee M12 compact handheld vaccum, and was super disappointed with its performance. Thats what led me to this Makita one. It outperforms the Milwaukee on every level. I like to keep it in my car and use it once a day after my commute. Keeps the carpet looking great. I will be buying one for all my vehicles. The extension and pointed nozzle get down between the seats and the center console really well, suction power is great, and the battery time is around 15-20 minutes of continuous operation. I did purchase a backup 3.0AH battery just in case. The only aspect I dont like is that you have to keep your finger on the trigger for the vaccum to remain on. Milwaukees vacuum lets you lock the trigger in place and keep the vacuum running as you work. I highly recommend this product for keeping around the house/in the car for picking up small food messes, kitty litter spills, or anything else as long as its dry!

I just got this today. I put the tube on, without the floor adapter, strapped on a headlamp, and went bunny hunting. Dust bunnies, that is. I have all hardwood flooring and two dogs, so the dust bunnies collect everywhere. I have a great Shark rotator for when I want to really vacuum the whole house, but its a pain to plug in and maneuver. This thing is light and easy to walk around with, sounds good and works good. It doesnt have the power of a plug in vacuum, of course, but it will pick up all the little scraps and dog hair thats making the floor look dirty. Its very easy to empty, too. In no time I had enough dog hair to make a spare dog inside the see-through dust bin. It took a few seconds to empty it, and was intuitive. Theres a screen outside the fabric filter, so that makes it easy. I love it. Update: Ive had it now for a month or so, and my house looks great. Ive found missing socks in the dust bunnies Ive sucked up. It has enough power to twist in my hand when it starts, and it will suck a penny up the long tube off a hard wood floor. It picks up anything reasonable, and Ive yet to find anything that fits in the tube and wont go up. Battery life seems great to me, but I have a bunch of Makita stuff so theres always a charged battery around.

I have hard floors and pets. Sweeping up the fly away fur was tiresome. This is a much better solution. It doesn’t clean rugs very well, though. I bought the cyclonic attachment and consider it a real plus because it helps prevent clogging of the filter with fur. The description on the 2 amp battery said that lasts 13 minutes per charge, but I don’t find that to be accurate at all. I can vacuum the whole house with power to spare. The unit is a bit heavy, so I wouldn’t want a bigger battery anyway. I took off a star because I think Makita overcharges for replacement batteries. It is good though that replacement batteries are available so that this can be used for a long time.

Ive had this product for almost four years. Still works as good as the first day. Its great for dog hair on hard floors, and small cleanups. The battery which is basically a power tool battery still holds a charge as well as it did when it was new. A little unpleasant to clean out the filter, but as long as you clean it after each use, it wont build up much of an odor the way a vacuum cleaner bag will or some of the other hand held units that capture animal hair.

With a 4 amp battery, this vacuum will go a long time. The dust cup is easy to clean and the tool is balanced about right. Good suction. Sadly, my wife has seized possession of this vacuum. Overall, this is a keeper.

I recently purchased a new Mikita drill and impact driver and noticed this handheld vacuum. My wife has been looking for a small cordless vacuum so I grabbed this with the idea I will have extra batteries that we could share. She wanted a small cordless for touch up jobs around the house that don’t need the big floor vacuum so we gave this a try and wow pretty impressed. For its size it really does a decent job much better than we expected. Noise level it is a little higher than a cordless drill so not too loud. Battery life seems really good as well. I picked up a spare 4.0 Ah battery to share between the Makita tools we have and the battery is still showing full after several uses. So if you have any Makita cordless tools this would be a good addition to your arsenal. It is great for quick cleanups or in between using the large floor vacuum. The floor attachment works well on hardwood floors and carpet.
