I own 3, one in the garage, one in the house and one in my suv. As someone who owned a dyson handheld and other cheaper models over the years, lack of suction and just really poor battery time (5-8min) made them go in the garbage quickly. This baby I have had for 3+ years and man they still go strong, I have tons of makita batteries so if it dies I pop in another. Easily has 30min run time on high. Buy the cyclone attachment if your using it in the house as it works well. We have a robot vac in the house and use this for spot cleaning and the stairs. In the garage it’s excellent and great for keeping the car clean.

With three hairy, constantly shedding dogs in our 6,000 sq ft house, this makes capturing those inevitable dust bunnies an easy task. Add to that the light weight, good power, and standard Makita batteries (which we have plenty of) this not only saves time but our backs as well as we can just walk around and make quick work of our daily cleaning task.

I only use this as a hand held dustbuster only. Suction is good, lightweight, charge lasts a long time. Only downside for me is that you must hold the button to keep it running. I would prefer the ability to click it on and off without having my thumb constantly holding it in the ON position. At first I didnt think such a simple thing would matter to me, but after time and depending on the job, I find it annoying that it just doesnt stay on until I click it off.

good vacuum suction, not amazing, but more than capable for loose messes on hard flat surfaces, or cleaning up the edges of rooms

I ordered it for my hubbys shop but, instead I use it in our RV. It works great for small spaces

Sweet little vacuum. And at ~$75.00 for the tool only, at $99.00 for the kit, makes it a great deal including the charger and battery for $25.00. Great suck value for a portable vacuum. Has enough power to gobble nuts and bolts, screws, metal items, and of course anything else. I bought one for the garage and another one for inside the house. I have a smaller super horse power shop vacuum and another larger super shop vacuum but this fills in where you need less suck and no cord. Edit Dec 2019: Soon after I bought this (purchased 2), one had a crack about 1/2 on the canister. For a cheap and easy fix, and just to be cautious I spent a few bucks on a JB Weld Plastic Stick. Wrapped a bead around it to prevent it cracking further and boom no more crack/cracking. I didnt need to, it still worked fine, but figured why not. Other vacuum is doing fine. Would buy these again. For $100 bucks, with a charger, its a steal. I know they have the brushless replacements for this; however, its twice the price for just the vacuum sans battery & charger. If the canister does break you can buy new ones for around $10 bucks. Also bought the cyclone attachment for one of them. Kinda spendy, but man makes emptying it a breeze.

I wished it was a little longer. Battery does last a long time. I bought it as a quick pick up for my kitchen floor. The pieces fit tight together. The price was right. I found it on one of their lightening deals around Christmas. My husband used it to clean his car. I don’t like it on carpet.

Dang, I really got the impression that Makita didnt really make this thing. Ive got a ton of cordless products (mostly the 18v stuff) and a bunch of corded stuff from Makita. Why? Cause they work great! and I have never been able to break a Makita product (some of this stuff is going on 20 years old and its been used everyday in brutal work environments!). Ordinarily Makita products really impress and totally exceed expectations --this thing, on the other hand, is just a glorified dust buster IMHO. I expect to pay a higher price for Makita cause it lasts forever and performs flawlessly --Im kinda pissed I paid more for this thing though... YMMV UPDATE: OK, I might have been wrong about this thing but you need the Cyclonic Vacuum Attachment to make it work decent --for me anyway. The attachment will hold much more crud than the base unit and make it much more practical (the stock volume is ridiculously small). Second, its so portable and light that I find Im using it all the time for stairs and any little mess that comes along. In sum, Ive upped this from 2 to 4 stars for ease of use, battery life (just the 3Ah type), and decent volume with the attachment. Still cant give it 5 stars cause its still a little light on sucking power and I really think Makita should either re-design it to hold more volume or include the Cyclonic Attachment with the unit.
