> 3 dayIve seen questions about being unable to set it up because of the 2.4GHZ. The model I have is the Homekit ready one. I had no issue setting it up using an iPhone that was connected to the 5GHZ portion of my mixed network. 2.4 is not a problem and is actually what most iot devices use because of the nature of having to connect to a network wirelessly, and often through walls. Setup was a snap and I was turning the lights on and off in my backyard like a wizard in no time.

> 3 dayMeross did it again. Another great product, and keeping up with the times, another product with HomeKit compatibility! Right before the holiday season comes this product which is perfect for setting up timers and remote on/off capabilities for Halloween and Christmas light. I also use it for a birdbath/fountain that I keep on during the day. The new Meross products are having HomeKit compatibility, along with Alexa and Google Home support. The new devices are even supporting mesh router, which is great for outdoor plugs, since mesh routers are sometimes needed to have wifi access outside the house. Just remember one thing, while setting up the plugs, disable 5GHz in the router. Once set up is complete using 2.4 GHz, 5GHz can be turned back on. The device shows up as one icon in HomeKit and Meross app, but once the icon is tapped, the app shows individual outlets for fine grained control. The two outlets can be turned on or off individually. Also, the outlet can be programmed using IFTTT where either the whole outlet (both receptacles) or each receptacle can be programmed to turn on or off. There is a switch on the outlet to turn both receptacles on of off manually. One problem that usually occurs with smart outlets is that the devices sometimes disconnect from the network so they cannot be turned or or off remotely. However, I have never seen that happen with this outlet. This is always connected and immediately accessible via HomeKit and Meross app. Overall, this is a great product that I confidently recommend. Get it, you will love it and wonder how you lived without it so far!

> 3 dayFantastic - each outlet also shows as a controllable switch! I thought both outlets were going to be controlled from the same switch, but this is fantastic!

> 3 daySo far this outdoor switch has been working flawlessly. I have it connected to a string light and set up an automation to turn them on at dusk and off at dawn and it has been working exactly like I wanted. I’ve been using HomeKit devices since their inception and this was by far the easiest and smoothest to set up. It does only work on 2.4GHz networks, like a lot of HomeKit devices, but it has not been an issue. It’s also very nice that you can control both outlets independently on the Home app. I honestly did not expect that and although I don’t have a use for the other plug yet, I think it’s a great feature. Hopefully it holds up over time outdoors as I don’t know what I’d do without it now!

> 3 dayI have been using a couple of these outdoors for a while and they work well. The QR Code faded out on both units. Meross send me the 8 digit code but I canoot regenerate the QU Code. So...Take a photo of the QR Code and number (or scan it) so you can make a new one WHEN the one on it fades out.

> 3 dayIt took me perhaps seven minutes to get this set up to control some outdoor lights. You use your smartphone to set it up. The two sockets are individually controlled and offer a lot of power for the money. Both can be actuated manually via smartphone app, or via your home automation platform. Ours is an Apple household, so I used my iPhone to set it up and connect it to our houses HomeKit hub (an Apple TV) for secure Internet accessibility and programmability. Apple Homekit allowed me to set up an automation so that one of this units sockets (in our case, running some outdoor lights) turns on every evening at sunset, adjusting automatically for the season and Daylight Savings Time. The socket is then set to automatically turn off at 10:30 each night. The second socket well use for Christmas lights. This replaces a high-end outdoor timer that was always getting screwed up by power failures and of course the beginning and ending of Daylight Savings Time. (It was high end in the sense that its a model meant to last more than 18 months, which cheaper timers dont, in my experience.) The old timer is located in a really inconvenient place, so the remote controllability and programmability (via HomeKit) of this device really addresses a lot of frustrations! Physically, its just a sturdy AC cord with a plug on one end and the socket assembly on the other. Its not heavy and is meant to simply hang off a wall outlet. No mounting is required. Recommended! If any troubles develop, Ill update this review. Based on first impressions, its a solid five stars.

Greater than one weekPaired quickly with HomeKit on an eero network. You do have to use the feature to pause the 5 hz band. Easy. Both outlets show up as separately controllable as expected in HomeKit. There is almost no delay when you switch on/off. I have mine paired with another indoor Meross smart plug to do scenes to turn on/off indoor and outdoor lights at the same time, and turn on/off automatically at set times of day. It’s really nice.

> 3 dayEasy to setup in homekit like most homekit devices. I was pleasantly surprised that it allows you to control the two outlets separately - in homekit you can long click the plug to see both outlets and if you go to settings you can even unpair them to show as two separate devices. My only complaint is that it uses wifi instead of thread. I realize thread is brand new and more products will use it as it continues to become popular. I just dont like all these smart plugs clogging up my wifi. But for the price point and the homekit native compatibility this plug is hard to beat.

Greater than one weekThis is what I have been looking for to augment my HomeKit setup without breaking the bank. I have other Meross indoor plugs and bulbs and although they are cheaper than alternatives, in my experience they work equally as good or even better. The device is a lot smaller than I had anticipated but works like a champ. Setup was effortless and connectivity to HomeKit is superb. I don’t really care about this since I only control the device remotely, but there is only one button for both switches - so something to consider for those who like to occasionally use the physical buttons. Also the rubber covers for the plugs may interfere with plugs that are a little bit larger, but I was able to tuck mine aside. The pictures look like both outlets are covered up on the house outlet but it’s actually the outlet cover that needed to be flipped around - once done it only took up one outlet.
