03-06-2025Everything about this plug did exactly what I needed it to except for the plug itself. Works great with HomeKit, each outlet is separately controlled, and the unit is waterproof. The problem was that the plug is huge and completely inflexible. You have to use the lower outlet for it to lay flat and since I already had another device in that outlet that was just as inflexible, I ended up getting a different smart plug and moving this one to the garage.

> 3 daySo i bought this (not sure if i bought used or brand new) but it was SUPER easy to setup. Yes you can use the Meross App on your phone to set it up, but if any Apple Homekit has that little rectangular QR code sticker... you can instantly add that to Homekit. Thats what that QR is for. This product DOES NOT need the Meross app, will setup straight into your Homekit app. 3/5 stars because only 1/2 plugs worked, and you can hear the audible click noise when the Surge protection clicks on and off. It would do this constantly. Im returning this defective product and ordering the same exact product, because it was super easy to setup and works easy. Also went through 2 separate Oklahoma heavy T-Storms... So i assume its weatherproofed quite well. Tip: When setting up in Homekit, make sure to label each outlet as Outlet 1, Outlet 2, or LED lights, etc) otherwise you will forget which one is which.

> 3 dayThis plug is very easy to use and integrate with Apple Home Kit. The only drawback is it is a little bulky, but that is minor. Appears well made and can withstand outdoor use.

> 3 dayProduct worked great for the first few months, but then suddenly I would get the “this accessory is not responding message” every time I would open Apple Home kit to use. After reconnecting, it works for about 5 minutes then it is unresponsive again. Maybe it’s an issue with Apple Home and not the device, however, I run into issues using the Meross app, too so seems like it’s a deck code issue. Great when it worked, but it usually doesn’t and not worth the hassle of having to reconnect every time I want to turn the outdoor string lights on.

Greater than one weekI bought this a year ago for use with HomeKit (Siri) for backyard lights. It isnt perfect, but it earns the fifth star: The bad: Setting up took a few tries, and maybe twice in a year, HomeKit required me to re-pair the device for reasons unknown. Requires you to turn off 5GHz, if you have it, to set up (2.4GHz only). Also, you may have to try a couple different names for the device and the separate outlets if you want to be able to control each plug separately while retaining the ability to turn them both on and off as a single device (e.g. front yard, back yard, whole yard). The good: Does the job. Switches on and off very quickly. Wifi works fine once its set up. If it requires re-pairing, the process isnt difficult. The button on the device works reliably even before its set up. Waterproofing has been reliable for a year, even through pretty heavy storms. The best: a week ago, I had to re-pair it and discovered that I hadnt written down the HomeKit code, and the sticker that had it printed on had come off. So I wrote in to Meross through their support page with a couple pieces of info (the devices default WiFi network name and its MAC address, both available from my Eero router control app), and they got back to me in a day with the HomeKit code for re-pairing (along with an apology for taking so long). I was very pleasantly surprised with that kind of high-quality customer support.

> 3 dayI just wanted it to work in coordination with my iPad, I could not achieve that you need some kind of a linking home device to fully set this up. I gave up, sent it back.

> 3 dayI own a lot of Meross plugs and they normally work well. However, these outdoor plugs are very difficult to connect since they use HomeKit. I have an Apple phone but don’t use HomeKit. You can’t really avoid HomeKit with these and I think that’s the issue. I would not recommend these now. Bummer because Meross users to be really good.

Greater than one weekI have several Meross products, and pairing this to my home system was simple, in part thanks to the clear feedback given through the light behind the power switch. I was surprised at how nice and compact the unit is, and the flat plug is perfect for my setup. Its great to be able to control either outlet independently, or you can use your preferred home automation software to group both together as one device. My only complaint is the outlet covers. Because of their placement and shape, they get in the way if you are trying to plug in two heavy duty outdoor power cords. Fortunately they are made of a soft silicone type material, rather than hard plastic, so they can be pushed out of the way or compressed, but it might require a little dexterity. Since they are IP44, they should be allowed to hang down so rain does not enter the outlet.

> 3 dayI was worried that the plug wouldnt function very well because the wifi outside of my house can be spotty. I was pleasantly surprised that everything worked without a problem. As with the other meross products, synching the device with Amazon Alexa was easy and straightforward. The only issue I had, which is entirely on my end, was the firmware did not update when it was connected to the wifi outside. I moved the plug inside, so the signal would be stronger, updated the firmware, and moved the plug back outside where it continues to work just fine. So my suggestion would be to set up and synch the plug where your signal is stronger and then move it outside, keeping in mind that it still needs a wifi signal to operate correctly.
