> 3 daySpent 1 hour trying to set it up with homekit. I setup tons of other homekit devices but this just doesn’t work. Also after reading about other users having to block the outgoing traffic either their routers (to Chinese server probably since it’s a Chinese company), I decided to go with another company. If you use their app, they also force you to login as signup (which is super shady and annoying). Don’t waste your time with this one .

> 3 dayI bought this in November to add to my portfolio of IoT devices, several of which are from Meross. It worked fine for a while but the Apple Home app will report every few days that it is not getting a response from this device. The Meross app, when this happens, can control it fine and reports wifi strength of 83%, and the other HomeKit devices are also fine so it looks like it is something between this particular device and the HomeKit Hub. Power cycling the plug restores functionality but it is a pain since the device is outside and is being used with automation.

Greater than one weekI use this with my Home app (Apple) out front of my house. One outlet is for my car charger, the other is for decorative lights. I have peak electric hours I dont want to be charging my car, so the one outlet is set to turn off during certain hours. The other outlet I have set to turn the lights on at sunset and to turn off at sunrise. Its great being able to tell the device to do two different things. Its well build, it looks nice, and works really well.

> 3 dayI wasn’t too sure about another outside voice controlled switch after using the Kasa one I bought a couple months ago, but with my Christmas lights being up I needed an easy way to control them. This device is comparably smaller than others, at least smaller than the one from Kasa, yet has similar functionality. They HomeKit setup was dead simple but then adding it to them Meross app so I could use it with Google Home was a bit confusing - it kept trying to have me go back through them HomeKit setup. Eventually I got it working after 5 minutes. It is important to keep in mind that you shouldn’t name the room, the device, and each plug the same - they all should have a different name. I went with Location: Front Yard, Device: Outside Smart Outlet, Plug1: Christmas Lights, Plug2: Ground Lights. Those allows me to say hey Google, turn on Christmas Lights and just those lights turn on, or I can say hey Google, turn on Outside Smart Outlet and both sets of lights turn on. Overall the device is sturdy and seems really well built. It had no issues connecting to my WiFi network and I havent noticed any house or slowness when barking out commands to Google.
