05-06-2025Was able to set this up immediately from HomeKit (unlike my WeMo plugs which had a 50/50 success rate). At first I thought both outlets were switched together, but realized HomeKit grouped both outlets as a pair in the app. So, best of both worlds, I can both outlets independently, or together. This allowed me to dump two of my other smart plugs and a splitter cable clean up the clutter behind the bookshelf. The fact that its weather proof is just a bonus to its versatility. For now, the Meross is still required if you want to update firmware. Its not a bad, but I prefer the unity of HomeKit to control all my devices. Do make sure you have good WiFi around where this is plugged in. I have the Meross garage door opener as well and both seem to be sensitive to poor wifi signal. Havent had any issues, but both devices almost constantly show me in red quality at ~72% signal. They still work like clockwork though, so it may not be that big of a deal, YMMV.

> 3 dayI own a lot of Meross plugs and they normally work well. However, these outdoor plugs are very difficult to connect since they use HomeKit. I have an Apple phone but don’t use HomeKit. You can’t really avoid HomeKit with these and I think that’s the issue. I would not recommend these now. Bummer because Meross users to be really good.

> 3 dayEasy to setup in homekit like most homekit devices. I was pleasantly surprised that it allows you to control the two outlets separately - in homekit you can long click the plug to see both outlets and if you go to settings you can even unpair them to show as two separate devices. My only complaint is that it uses wifi instead of thread. I realize thread is brand new and more products will use it as it continues to become popular. I just dont like all these smart plugs clogging up my wifi. But for the price point and the homekit native compatibility this plug is hard to beat.

> 3 dayUsually, HomeKit devices are trivial to set up. This one was just weird. But once I got it working, it has been bulletproof. A good device at a great price, as long as you’re willing to fiddle a bit to begin with.

> 3 dayWe had a failure on this switch for unclear reasons. Contacted customer support and warranty replacement was shipped in days. Great warranty replacement process.

> 3 dayI liked this but it has already quit on me. I’ve had it less than a year. It wasn’t used much but it was nice to have available.

> 3 dayThis was my first meross product in my Apple HomeKit. I purchased this outdoor smart plug because its one of the only reasonably-priced ones on the market compatible with HomeKit. I followed *all* the instructions and warnings when connecting it to my home network and it was still very, very difficult. I actually had to return the first plug I ordered because it absolutely refused to connect to my home network (I presume it was defective). The second one I ordered still took about *20* tries to get it onto my network and into the Home app. My advice: 1. Try over and over to add it to Home via the meross app. it might take > 10 tries with factory resets between attempts. 2. Once its added DO NOT try to move it to another outlet... I first performed the setup close to my wifi router to maximize the signal; then I planned to move it outside (it is an outside plug after all...) but when I did this is removed itself from my network and could not reconnect. I had to redo the entire setup outside and I dont plan on ever moving the outlet again for fear it will disconnect. 3. The meross app might warn you that its been added to Home but it was not added to the meross app itself - ignore this, after some time it will appear in the meross app by itself. After all of this hassle it seems to be connected to the home... hopefully it stays that way. I probably would not buy another meross product based on my experience with this plug.

> 3 dayIve had smart devices in my home for many, many years now. I discovered Meross when needing an inexpensive garage door controller. It has been working flawlessly for over two years. Ive since purchased light switches and lamps and now this outdoor smart plug. It was very simple to get configured. The app (I use android) worked perfectly and walked me through the steps. Because I already have Meross devices, the Google home app picked up the new smart plug and I was controlling it with my voice with no trouble. My only complaint is because the Google home integration controls both outlets as one. The Meross app controls them independently. I think Meross should make the adjustment in the Google home integration to allow independent control of the two outlets. See attached images. Other than that, its a brilliant device!
