I just wanted it to work in coordination with my iPad, I could not achieve that you need some kind of a linking home device to fully set this up. I gave up, sent it back.

I now have several of these devices in my HomeKit network. I am slowly replacing other outdoor switches as they are much less reliable, requiring periodic unplugging and replugging to get them to respond again. These Meross outdoor switches stay connected and work as advertised. I dont think I have had a single disconnection with them yet! Once or twice I have had to struggle a bit to set them up initially, but in those situations a second try always worked.

Ive seen questions about being unable to set it up because of the 2.4GHZ. The model I have is the Homekit ready one. I had no issue setting it up using an iPhone that was connected to the 5GHZ portion of my mixed network. 2.4 is not a problem and is actually what most iot devices use because of the nature of having to connect to a network wirelessly, and often through walls. Setup was a snap and I was turning the lights on and off in my backyard like a wizard in no time.

This really is the perfect device for controlling outdoor holiday lights. It is a high quality, well made product. It features Apple HomeKit and Alexa capability! There are two serrate outlet plugs and you can control them individually! There are rubber plugs to keep water out of unused outlets. You do not need to install the Meross app if you are only using Homekit. If you want to use Alexa, you will need to install the Meross app and also the Meross skill on the Alexa app. Either way, setup is simple. Good product. I can now set the Christmas light to go on at Dusk and turn off 1 hour before dawn, or whatever you choose. No need to fiddle with timers or light sensors.

The product looks nice, has two plugs that can be remotely controlled independent of each other and functions as advertised. HomeKit setup was easy and the Wi-Fi range proved adequate to reach one Smart Plug at the rear of our property (about 50 feet from the back of the house). Can be controlled by push button switch on the front, via icons in the HomeKit APP, and by voice request to Siri. Finally, the Meross Outdoor smart Plug has companion indoor plugs, embedded wall switches, garage door openers that provide easy upgrades to plain old plugs and switches that are installed as a default by most home builders.

I bought this to schedule lights we have on our deck to go on and off with home automations in HomeKit. The setup was very simple and what you would expect from any HomeKit enabled product. I simply plugged it in, opened the Home app, scanned the HomeKit sticker on the side of the plug, waited a few seconds, and then assigned the room and names for the outlets. I’d say it only took two minutes to set it all up. For those reviews saying it does not work with HomeKit, they clearly don’t know how to do it. After setup, I was able to add to my automations and control the lights on and off my network, as I have multiple Apple TV’s and HomePods that act as hubs. I’ve only had it running a couple of days, but will update on how well it holds up to damp conditions and rain. At this point that’s the only thing I’m worried about based on other reviews, but happy so far.

Bought this device to control an outdoor fountain and LED fountain lights separately using Smartthings. Could not connect to Smartthings without first installing the Meross app and linking the plug to it. Once it was added to the Meross app, it easily connected to Smartthings. After a 1 hour power outage the plug would not reconnect to Smartthings, showed off line. The Meross app was able to control the plug however. I had to manually re-add the device to Smartthings. This outdoor plug works great with Apple Home Kit. You can control each of the two plugs individually from the app and you can also turn this on at the plug.

I tried all the steps to install including checking the Gateway Router to see if the MAC address was recognized (it was). The plug never connected even when I was going through the setup in the office with my router next to it. The instructions then stated to remove the MAC address, reboot the router, and re-enter the address. Forget about this.

I’ve spent about 3 hrs getting this setup and I found out the hard way that it does not support WPA3 security. I have about 12 Meross smart light switches and they all support WPA3 so I had no reason to think that this plug wouldn’t. Surprise, it does not. Once I turned off WPA3 on my router the setup completed. I checked for firmware updates and it says that I’m up to date. I turn back on WPA3 and it loses connection to the router. This is probably the issue that most everyone has run into who said that it would not connect to their routers. Edit: A new firmware update to ver 4.1.33 makes this outlet compatible with WPA3. You may have to revert to WPA2 in order to connect to the device and update the firmware and then turn WPA3 back on.
