> 3 dayIve been getting into Homekit so I bought 3 of these to replace a different non-Homekit brand Ive been using for years. I have one thats completely outdoors (up against the wall) to control a landscape lighting transformer. These are IP44 rated so they can take some splashing but they should still be somewhat protected if possible. I have another out in a shed and another in the garage. All working flawlessly for several weeks in a wide range of weather conditions. Although not always useful since you might not have two things to power separately at the same location, I really like that the two outlets can be controlled independently from the app or Homekit. One of my uses is synching this outlet to the Meross wall switch that controls the flood lights for my back yard. Even with my flood lights on, there was an area in teh back corner that was still dark. However, I have a shed with power available back there. I installed some new floodlights on the shed and Im powering them through this device. Now when we flip the switch inside the house to turn on our old flood lights the new ones mounted to the shed come on at the same moment as if they were all wired together. I use the second outlet to turn the lights inside the shed on and off since the second outlet is there anyway. Im pleased with these so far and will update should anything change.

> 3 dayLet me start with build quality. Its questionable. I ordered two. One came with an open crack between the two halves of the plastic body because the unit had not been assembled correctly. Fortunately, I was able to take it apart and re-assemble it. It is worth noting that there are no rubber gaskets or other seals to keep water out of the main housing. The two rubber outlet covers which were black in the product photos are actually yellow. They are very supple and seem to provide a good seal when inserted into the receptacles. (The only seal in the entire product.) However, when they are not inserted into the receptacles, they hang between the two receptacles from a very, very thin strip of rubber. It is not hard to imagine them getting accidentally torn off, but thats not even the biggest problem with them. It is almost impossible to plug in two cords at the same time because the products two receptacles are placed fairly close together and those hanging covers get in the way. You have to really pull the covers out of the way with some force to insert a second plug. It seems inevitable that the rubber covers will get torn off. If the designers had hung the covers in any other direction, this problem would have been averted. Similar products all get this right. Only meross gets it wrong. (Its worth noting that meross offers another version of this product—same model number but different housing—that does solve this problem...while creating another.) The biggest design hassle for me is the plug end of this product—the one that gets inserted into your AC receptacle. This is a product designed to be used outdoors. The designer should absolutely assume it is going to be plugged in inside a weather housing, yet meross drops the ball here too. The plug points down at a 90-degree angle. This means if you plug it into the top outlet, you cant use the bottom outlet. If you plug it into the bottom outlet, you cant close the door of the weather housing. If you want to use two of these units together, forget it. You cant. Attaching the cord to the plug at a 45-degree angle would have completely solved this problem. As is, there is no solution. So is there anything good about this product? Absolutely. It was easy to connect to HomeKit. Once you switch your iPhone over to the products ad hoc wifi signal while you set it up, everything works exactly like it should. And the product allows you to control each outlet independently. In fact, functionally, this product checks all the boxes. Unfortunately, its physical design is a deal killer.

> 3 dayWe utilize this for some outdoor lighting and I love that it has two outlet plugs. Not only do we use this all year, but we also use it for christmas lighting. Has never given any issue, even in -30F weather! Highly recommend.

> 3 dayEverything about this plug did exactly what I needed it to except for the plug itself. Works great with HomeKit, each outlet is separately controlled, and the unit is waterproof. The problem was that the plug is huge and completely inflexible. You have to use the lower outlet for it to lay flat and since I already had another device in that outlet that was just as inflexible, I ended up getting a different smart plug and moving this one to the garage.

> 3 dayThis is working well to control a fountain outside. It is weather-resistant, not submersible. It is in a relatively sheltered setting, so should be okay. Plastic plugs are there to protect unused outlet, if needed. Short cord to hang outside of outlet enclosure. It wouldn’t connect to HomeKit using the camera and QR code, but connected manually right away. The instructions clearly cover this eventuality, so good job there. HomeKit control works very well, both setting a schedule and manually. Outlets can be controlled independently; I didn’t need that, but feature is there and works if you do. Only caveat is that I’ve only had it for 3 weeks.

> 3 dayThis product is great! Very easy to install and user-friendly. I own two of them, the first is over a year old and still functions very well. We have used these to control string lights on the patio as well as Christmas lights in the winter. The only thing I would change is how you set up routines in the app, not super easy and user-friendly.

> 3 dayI bought this a year ago for use with HomeKit (Siri) for backyard lights. It isnt perfect, but it earns the fifth star: The bad: Setting up took a few tries, and maybe twice in a year, HomeKit required me to re-pair the device for reasons unknown. Requires you to turn off 5GHz, if you have it, to set up (2.4GHz only). Also, you may have to try a couple different names for the device and the separate outlets if you want to be able to control each plug separately while retaining the ability to turn them both on and off as a single device (e.g. front yard, back yard, whole yard). The good: Does the job. Switches on and off very quickly. Wifi works fine once its set up. If it requires re-pairing, the process isnt difficult. The button on the device works reliably even before its set up. Waterproofing has been reliable for a year, even through pretty heavy storms. The best: a week ago, I had to re-pair it and discovered that I hadnt written down the HomeKit code, and the sticker that had it printed on had come off. So I wrote in to Meross through their support page with a couple pieces of info (the devices default WiFi network name and its MAC address, both available from my Eero router control app), and they got back to me in a day with the HomeKit code for re-pairing (along with an apology for taking so long). I was very pleasantly surprised with that kind of high-quality customer support.

> 3 dayI have several Meross products, and pairing this to my home system was simple, in part thanks to the clear feedback given through the light behind the power switch. I was surprised at how nice and compact the unit is, and the flat plug is perfect for my setup. Its great to be able to control either outlet independently, or you can use your preferred home automation software to group both together as one device. My only complaint is the outlet covers. Because of their placement and shape, they get in the way if you are trying to plug in two heavy duty outdoor power cords. Fortunately they are made of a soft silicone type material, rather than hard plastic, so they can be pushed out of the way or compressed, but it might require a little dexterity. Since they are IP44, they should be allowed to hang down so rain does not enter the outlet.

Greater than one weekSo I live in an apartment complex and bought this for my outdoor balcony for my string lights. I tried to set it up on my balcony and each attempt ended in failure. After several on and off attempts over the span of a few hours, I brought it inside out of frustration. I then tried to see if I could pair it inside, and it worked on the first try. Not what was happening from a technical standpoint but that fixed the pairing issue, and now it works fine.

Greater than one weekI used to use a mechanical outdoor timer for my Christmas lights. I want to use a smart timer this year instead so I can control the timer from my iPhone. This is helpful if you have to place your timer at a hard to reach location. I was aware that this Meross smart Wifi outdoor plug was designed for Apple Homekit but I knew it also works with Amazon Alexa and Meross ios app. It has 2 outlets that can be turned on/off separately. I recommend setting it up indoor first before you place it outside. Setting up a Meross smart device is straight forward since its Meross ios app will walk you thru step by step. However, as this device is designed for Apple Homekit, you need to set it up in Home ios app first before you can add it in Meross app. Setting up in Home ios app is easy by just scanning the QR code on the side of the plug and follow the direction to add it into your home wifi. I don’t use Apple Homekit so I used Meross app to setup the timer for this plug in the Routine feature. After you set up the device in Home app, you open Meross app, click on the ” + “ sign at the top right corner and you will see it has an option to add the “Smart Outdoor Plug”. I hooked it up to my landscape light and tested it for 3 weeks. It went thru the California fire, Santa Ana wind, and rainy weather without any problem. In 2 weeks, I’ll have a reliable smart timer for my Christmas lights. It’s another 5-star smart device from Meross.
