This hotend is awesome. I do not get clogs whatsoever anymore

Made my 3D prints more accurate but does tend to leak a little filament.

Install is as easy as can be. Plug and Play. Put it in place and started printing right away. Myself have only printer PLA, same brand I was printing without problems. I dont have enough printer knowledge to say if it is the best option or not. It just works and I dont plant to change it in any way. Eager to try other materials but dont have any add of now.

This is one of three items I purchased to modify my Monoprice Maker Select Plus (the others being the steel extruder plates and the A2 hardened nozzle). Installation is easy enough, and takes maybe half an hour. In return, my print quality has improved dramatically and jams have become a thing of the past. In fact, Im printing right now with the last half of a spool of PLA I was getting ready to write off because it kept jamming in the stock hothend (I dont know if its just poor quality plastic or if it absorbed moisture, but prints with it are coming out nice either way, now). Seriously, this is one of the mods that will make your printer crush a couple of cans of energy drinks and go straight up boss-mode on prints.

Print quality change is noticeable for me, filament is extruded smoother and more consistently. A bit expensive for what it is, but worth it. Only complaint; the 0.4mm provided nozzle did not fit into my duplicator i3+ heating block. It turned about a half-turn, and then almost got stuck. I wasnt able to turn it any further in. Similar brass nozzles I had extras of fit just fine. I had to end up using a new brass nozzle that I had laying around. Other than that inconvenience, a great product, and necessary for anyone who wants to print at higher temperatures.

This kit is perfect. Beautiful machining, perfect fit and excellent upgrade. The only complaint I had was that there are no included instructions. I found well written detailed instructions on their website, but for the price that this 2 ounces of aluminum and stainless steel costs, they should be able to include a good instruction book.

Not a bad upgrade, not ground breaking either. I was having jams with my old hotend so I ordered the microswiss one. The jams were caused by the extruder lever screw that was losse. The prints are slightly better than before but not an amazing difference as other people are mentioning. Still a good upgrade that will last longer than the original hotend.

I could go on and on about this MS hot end, but all I will say is I wish I did this upgrade sooner. Filament feeds so much more smoothly and I dont have clogs, like I would get with the stock hot end on my Monoprice Maker Select Plus (Wanhao i3 plus) with the stupid PTFE tube. I found that I need to print 5-10 degrees hotter, but things print so much better. This upgrade is a must.

This is Micro Swiss All Metal Hot end kit with redesigned cooling block for Wenham i3, Wenham i3 Plus and all other i3 clones with the following improvements: Slotted Clamping system No set screw to ding and damage thermal tube Significantly better heat transfer (this is a big one!!!) Easier disassemble and adjustments Precise control on bore diameter Micro Swiss All Metal Hot end Kit Features: All metal hot end upgrade for MK10 style extruders. This upgrade includes a modified thermal barrier tube and modified nozzle with modified cooling block. Thermal barrier tube is made from 2 different materials. The lower thermal break is made from stainless steel and the colder upper part is made from aluminium. Stainless steel was used for thermal break because it offers low thermal conductivity and aluminium was used for the upper portion because it has a lot better thermal conductivity, to carry away any heat from the filament. All metal hot end will let you print at much higher temperature than possible with original PTFE lined one. Another benefit of an all metal hot end design is more consistent melt chamber control. During slow extrusion rate, in PTFE lined hot end, transition zone from solid to molten plastic tends to creep upward creating more stringy prints. With all metal design a transition zone is always constant, being located right at the heat break. With fast extrusion rate, PTFE tube doesn"t have enough thermal conductivity to properly melt all the plastic coming out. On MK10 extruders that limitation happens around 60 mm/s, depending on nozzle size. All metal hot end solves this problem, plastic is surrounded by thermally conductive nozzle throughout its length. Orifice size available:.2mm,.3mm,.4mm,.5mm,.6mm,.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm Kit will fit: Wenham i3 Wenham i3 Plus Moonrise Maker Select 3D Printer v2 Moonrise Maker Select Plus Cocoon Create 3D Printer Kit includes 1 Plated Brass Wear Resistant Nozzle 1 Thermal tube 1 Slotted Cooling block Installation Instructions
