So far, so great! Get this kit, not just the all-metal tube and nozzle version. The block is much better than the stock version on my monoprice.

Buy this kit. But the hotend WITH the slotted block if you have a maker select v2 and want to upgrade it. Dont slack and buy just the hotend without the block, it ends up being a mess with having to use thermal paste and all to fit in the original block. This makes it so much easier and it all works perfectly together. Very easy to install, just be SUPER careful with the heater core and thermistor wires when you are messing with the hot end, they are brittle and can break without really taking care of them. Since installing this, I have had no clogs and it has been perfect. I did have some issues at the beginning trying to overheat the filament and then again when I plugged in the wrong fans so my extruder was getting super hot and melting everything before it could print. So watch out for human error. Machine error though, no problems. I recommend this as one of the must-have mods of this 3d printer. That along with z-brace mod, the power board issue mod, and a glass bed covered in pei film and I am good to go!

Ran more than a hundred hours on original not a problem. Made upgrade to see if it would better my prints... Jams in the tube... Not the nozzle... Every 3-4 hours. Not worth the money

I bought this to replace the stock setup on a Duplicator i3 Plus. Followed the instructions and had PLA oozing out of the top where the sleeve connects to the block. Covered the whole heating block. I had to order replacement parts just to go back to stock. Not recommended.

All I can say is that this is the best upgrade I have made to my 3D printer. Besides the ability to print more exotic filaments that require a temperature above what the stock hotend can provide, the print quality on my printer has greatly improved. Following the instructions as provided on the Micro Swiss website, the installation of this hotend took me about 15-20 minutes and was rather easy to perform. By looking at the negative reviews of this hotend, I can tell that those reviews are the people that have not followed those instructions resulting is clogs and misprints. However, if you follow those instructions, this will be the best $50 you will spend for your printer.

Heatbreak broke off inside the hotend while tightening. Completely useless and cant use my printer now.

It seems silly to put a $50 hot-end upgrade in a $250 printer, and there are other upgrades out there which offer more bang for the buck on a stock Wanhao Duplicator i3 (like Z-axis braces). But this does what it says on the tin. Consider this if youve already done the low hanging fruit upgrades and/or if you want to print using media that require higher temperatures. Note: The instructions are clear and specific. Follow them precisely, every step, in order. Itll take you less than an hour.

This is Micro Swiss All Metal Hot end kit with redesigned cooling block for Wenham i3, Wenham i3 Plus and all other i3 clones with the following improvements: Slotted Clamping system No set screw to ding and damage thermal tube Significantly better heat transfer (this is a big one!!!) Easier disassemble and adjustments Precise control on bore diameter Micro Swiss All Metal Hot end Kit Features: All metal hot end upgrade for MK10 style extruders. This upgrade includes a modified thermal barrier tube and modified nozzle with modified cooling block. Thermal barrier tube is made from 2 different materials. The lower thermal break is made from stainless steel and the colder upper part is made from aluminium. Stainless steel was used for thermal break because it offers low thermal conductivity and aluminium was used for the upper portion because it has a lot better thermal conductivity, to carry away any heat from the filament. All metal hot end will let you print at much higher temperature than possible with original PTFE lined one. Another benefit of an all metal hot end design is more consistent melt chamber control. During slow extrusion rate, in PTFE lined hot end, transition zone from solid to molten plastic tends to creep upward creating more stringy prints. With all metal design a transition zone is always constant, being located right at the heat break. With fast extrusion rate, PTFE tube doesn"t have enough thermal conductivity to properly melt all the plastic coming out. On MK10 extruders that limitation happens around 60 mm/s, depending on nozzle size. All metal hot end solves this problem, plastic is surrounded by thermally conductive nozzle throughout its length. Orifice size available:.2mm,.3mm,.4mm,.5mm,.6mm,.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm Kit will fit: Wenham i3 Wenham i3 Plus Moonrise Maker Select 3D Printer v2 Moonrise Maker Select Plus Cocoon Create 3D Printer Kit includes 1 Plated Brass Wear Resistant Nozzle 1 Thermal tube 1 Slotted Cooling block Installation Instructions
