This is really strong. Because of the way my (tiny) bathroom is laid out & the major leg surgery I had, I have to pull on it horizontally (i.e. like I am pulling it out straight out of the wall) to get up from the toilet. Not sure if it was designed to take that much pulling force in that direction, but it feels rock solid. The toggle screws that hold it to drywall are the biggest ones I have ever seen & have an ingenious design. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating was a) it required a 1 1/4” (not sure of size) hole saw & I couldn’t find one in the garage, so a trip to Ace hardware & b) once you have drilled the holes with the hole saw, there’s not much play in the mounting brackets to allow for adjusting to width or level. So you have to be spot on for cutting the holes. Mine is a very tiny bit off level, but not at all noticeable. I just need to make sure I dont leave a torpedo level lying around in the bathroom—wouldnt want a guest to check my work ;-) BTW, It’s bigger than I thought it would be from the pictures; barely had enough clear wall space to install it in my tiny bathroom. A roll of toilet paper looks sort of lost on it, but I appreciate the size when I have to grab it

I doubted the installation claims if only one end attaches to a wall stud. I was wrong. Im 235 pounds and it has handled my weight since installation.

We purchased 2 grab bars - this bronze one and a brushed nickle bar - one for each bathroom. One of them, I installed myself. We had converted an outdoor porch into a bathroom for my son (who has special needs - balance and mobility being one of his needs). I just screwed it into the wood wall. Its stable, sturdy, and its as strong as that wall - it will hold just about any weight. The other was to be installed in another bathroom & was a bit more complicated. I could not for the life of me, figure out the the plastic locking device that goes through the wall. So, I watched the video - not helpful. I now understood how, but somehow couldnt figure out why this would work. I was afraid it wouldnt hold weight. So, I had my husband watch the video. He understood & was convinced it would work & be sturdy. So, we began. This bar was to be installed on the side of a cupboard by our toilet. I took the shelves out of the cupboard & had my husband niche them to fit around the 2 2x4s that I installed vertically inside the cupboard. My husband then followed the instructions in the video & installed the grab bar onto the side of the newly reinforced cupboard. This bar is sturdy & holds my husbands weight (230 to 250lbs - depending on how motivated hes been). He has a trick knee on one knee & his other is just plain messed up & surgery helped, but wasnt a cure. Its sturdy - even when he has to put all of his weight on it. I think they are more attractive than other bars Ive seen, & the ability to put toilet paper on them makes them even more useful. As far as ease of installation, I would say that that depends on what you plan on installing it on. We installed both of ours at an angle, for ease of use - due to where they ended up located compared to the stool.

The relatively large installation holes, combined with the requirement to miss any studs made installation a little spooky. But all went smoothly when following instructions. Strong assistance support. Utilitarian attractive with easy toilet paper dispensing/changing.

Almost everyone who comes over and sees this says its a fantastic idea, and they never heard of it before. I love having a grab bar to help stand up from being seated on the toilet. Also, replacing the paper roll with only one hand is fantastic! I love this!

This worked, placed where my old holder was, it already had extra mounting in place. Was not difficult for us to install. Got because my husband had a massive stroke & needed something to help get up. It works well. Ive even used...

This grabbar/ toilet paper holder was just what we needed. Looks nice and is very functional. Very good mounting system that holds solid to the wall. Very good instructions too.

This combines two functions and looks interesting. If this is a retrofit project - Moen has solved the problem of no backer board installed in the wall. Moen includes a Secure Mount system with it so you dont need a stud or backer board for it to carry the weight for grab bar use. Needs an inch plus hole and the mount molly goes into/installs through that. The grab bar cover conceals the holes. The carpenters forgot to install the wood backer and new porcelain tile had already been installed - ouch! So discovering the Secure Mount molly system, in the package, was a lifesaver - one side is over a stud and the other side uses the mount. Designed and packaged with the customer in mind - am so impressed.

This was rather big and clunky. We went with the Delta instead.
