Pilot bit broke halfway through the single hole I needed to drill in my new stainless steel sink. Couldn’t find a perfect size replacement bit at local home store, so hole ended up wobbling and being wallowed out. Luckily what I was putting in (glass rinser) covered the oversized hole.

Well it drilled 2 holes fine, then broke. This was the 3 1/8 flavor, chucked up in a drill press, so I couldnt have bound it up too much the belts will slip. You get what you pay for.

I havent used these yet but they appear to be a quality product. I will repost when I have cut the first hole.

I used my 21mm hole saw to drill 16 holes through 3/4” thick steel plate. Eight were set up and drilled on a Bridgeport mill. Eight were drilled by a cordless drill in the field. I did not notice wear or loss of performance at 16 holes. The pilot bit overheated since it drills faster than the hole saw. For thicker material, I recommend through drilling a pilot hole the same diameter, so the pilot bit can act as a guide and not have to work so hard.

Best hole saw that I’ve used to date.

EDIT: After using a better drill bit and Blue Loctite on set screw,, the hole saw worked fine. Bumped it up to 3 stars and overall, disappointed but made it work. Drill bit did not center properly and even broke on a test piece. Will update after I use a different bit and am able to complete an actual cut. This is currently being used on aluminum, 1/2 thick.

Product arrived on time and worked very well to drill holes in the fiberglass boat so we could install new electrical outlets. I would recommend.
