Mommys Bliss Original Gripe Water, Infant Gas and Colic Relief, Gentle & Safe, 2 Weeks+, 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)

My now 9-week old son has a mild case of colic. We have been giving this to him since he was about 5 or 6 weeks old. Im not sure if its the taste or the near-instant relief or both but it actually works for him. Ill usually give it to him if hes in between feedings and acts like his tummy is bothering him by wriggling around and tensing up. Or when hes crying inconsolably. After he takes it, I dont know if its psychological or the relief is that fast, but he will usually calm down right away (I also give him his pacifier immediately after). His pediatrician made a comment that its just pure sugar (which is not true and Im not sure why she shoots it down so quickly). She instead highly recommended giving him chamomile tea (which didnt seem to work and he didnt seem too pleased with the taste). This gripe water has very effective ingredients and works for my baby so well that I ended up subscribing to it here on Amazon.

It works, so far. I have a little less than a ml mixed into 3oz for a 2 weeks old. The easiness of gas and stool releases are noticeable. She hasn’t complained, so far. I would give it a five. Pending future experiences when she advances beyond two month age.

Life saver for our baby who has severe reflux. He is on Zantac as well but that is only doing so much and we try to not give him more serious medication. We dont give him the full dose (5 ml up to every 4 hours) but we adjust it on time of day (4 ml for his night feed before the long bedtime stretch, another 4 ml in the morning for his first feed when he eats a lot and otherwise spits up and cries badly, 2-3 ml every 4ish hours during the day when things are much easier for him). The ingredients were approved by our ped for long term treatment so that gave us peace of mind too. If he cries from the acid reflux (crying and unlatching while feeding) this helps within 2-5 minutes usually and he relaxes and is fine. The only issue is that this is rather thick as a liquid and he chokes relatively easily if it is not diluted with a bit of milk or formula. We have never used the dropper as that makes choking even more likely but the MediFrida but even with that and going REALLY slow and only pushing a bit in while he actively suckles he choked sometimes. Oddly enough the choking with this can occur 1-2 minutes after the last drop was pushed into his mouth, so it must be really sitting and coating. So I would urge you to use a MediFrida and dilute with milk or formula 1:1 or put it straight into a bottle with milk or formula if you bottle feed.

Gripe water is really a must have for any household with children. This is great for babies, children, and even adults. We used this in at least 1 bottle a day for both of my children and rarely had problems with gas or colic. I give this as a gift to all new moms and each one tells me how grateful they are for it. They all love it. I use it for the older children when they have hiccups or an upset stomach. My husband and I also have tried this when our stomach was upset and I can tell you it works. I am not a fan of the taste (like licorice) but after you take it, you feel this warmth spread through you and almost instant calming happens. No wonder it works for babies! Try it, use it, buy it in bulk. I love the Mommys Bliss brand for the gripe water but am disappointed that it is not all organic. Elements of this are organic. It is still my favorite brand of gripe water and I believe the most natural of the ones out there on the shelves.

Helps my little one with hiccups. The dosage is a bit large but I guess it’s a good thing because baby let’s a lot of it dribble out of their mouth. A little sticky but doesn’t stain.

I gave this gripe water to my 3 weeks old daughter and she choked on it. I had to take her to the hospital. The doctors said they had previous cases when babies have choked on gripe water. This mommy bliss gripe water was also recalled in the past by FDA. Please do your research before ordering.

Okay, after the first time I gave this to my baby and he chocked, I actually read the reviews and agree with most people. You need to give it to the baby very slowly. As he’s gotten older, he can take it slightly faster. This product is great for knocking out his hiccups, so it’s worth the super slow feeding and drooling!!

My baby always gets hiccups. It works instantly. My MIL used it with him too. She said it’s “magic in a bottle”. I ordered more. 1 on my end table and 1 in the diaper bag. 2 more are put away. It’s a need.
