> 3 dayThis knife is awesome. Even though I make my own knives, you cant beat the quality of knives that Morakniv makes, for the price you pay. I really love the thicker blade on this model. Ive batoned wood with it, carved with it, cut leather patterns with it, cut rope/line with it, and a whole slew of other stuff. Like all Morakniv knives it comes from the factory razor sharp, and it holds its edge a very long time. If you are looking for a great all around camping backpacking knife this is it. Its money well spent.

> 3 dayThis knife is one of the sharpest knives I have ever bought right out of the package. Having spent $100 + several times on different knives that says a lot. Only thing that I dont like about it is that it is not a full tang knife, other than that it seems to hold up good to the little abuse I put it through. I guess time will tell.

> 3 dayThe knife has an overall cheap feel to it, but the blade is thick, the grip is decent, the sheath is nice, and its cheap: that should earn it 3, if not 4 stars. However, the edge upon arrival is garbage, and that I cant abide. The blade arrived dull along about 2/3 of its edge, and the grind feels like an extreme angle around 45 degrees. The tip of the blade has a burr that caught my finger unexpectedly. This thing will be headed for the whetstone before its ever used. Id also highlight some odd divots along the blade. Im no metallurgist, but Im concerned about the metal quality. As a carbon blade Ill keep it well oiled, but if the metal is impure there isnt much hope of preventing rust spots.

> 3 dayThese are really an amazing value for the price. Good quality, carbon steel, blade with nice thick spine cross section. Good point. Rubber handle is easy to grasp and not slippery, even if wet. I would recommend this product without hesitation. Its my go too field knife. I wouldnt camp etc. without it.

> 3 dayThis is my first Morakniv and so far seems to be everything promised by other 5 star reviews. I do wish it were full tang, but so far this seems to be a complete non-issue for this knife. I will update as I put it to work this camping season.

> 3 dayI knew off hand the spine on this knife is rounded, I read the description. I just dont understand why. Clearly they saw this feature as something special, but it removes functions from the knife. I cant scrape shavings or strike a firesteel with a rounded spine. I also know Mora has knives that do have a 90 degree spine, but they are much more expensive and it doesnt cost extra to do. Some work with a stone and I have a nice sharp spine, I just wish it could have come that way. The sheath, its perfectly functional, but thats about the best I can say for it. I really dont trust the retention on it, its still holding up granted, but its just a little bump in the plastic that rides against the handle, and it will fail. A couple dollars more for a basic leather or molded plastic with a retention strap or something would be nice. Everything else is pretty positive. I dont fault it for not being full tang, that is extra expense. Of course I want all the features of the garberg without having to pay for it, but thats not happening. Despite this, it holds up to batoning, even on the end of the handle. The extra thickness of the blade gives added strength over the regular companion, the only sacrifice being that the angle of the grind doesnt cut as well as the thinner blade. The scandi grind is strong, carves well, and sharpens easy. I was able to featherstick a toothpick, it just is a little easier with the thinner companion, at the sacrifice of strength. I have not had any rust issues, I had it out on a 4 day trip in a temperate rain forest, washing it with water when it got dirty. I got some light oxidizing spots, but they buffed off when I got home, and a light oiling is keeping it clean. The sharpening needed after that trip was minimal, a stropping alone would have been enough, but I needed to clean it up a little. For the price, its hard to beat. I had a more expensive cold steel leatherneck I was using, but quickly learned its useless as a bushcraft knife. I wanted a really nice knife, but didnt have the money. For the price, this knife will do everything I need it to, for as long as I need it to, until I can afford the garberg, or something custom.
