> 3 dayI knew off hand the spine on this knife is rounded, I read the description. I just dont understand why. Clearly they saw this feature as something special, but it removes functions from the knife. I cant scrape shavings or strike a firesteel with a rounded spine. I also know Mora has knives that do have a 90 degree spine, but they are much more expensive and it doesnt cost extra to do. Some work with a stone and I have a nice sharp spine, I just wish it could have come that way. The sheath, its perfectly functional, but thats about the best I can say for it. I really dont trust the retention on it, its still holding up granted, but its just a little bump in the plastic that rides against the handle, and it will fail. A couple dollars more for a basic leather or molded plastic with a retention strap or something would be nice. Everything else is pretty positive. I dont fault it for not being full tang, that is extra expense. Of course I want all the features of the garberg without having to pay for it, but thats not happening. Despite this, it holds up to batoning, even on the end of the handle. The extra thickness of the blade gives added strength over the regular companion, the only sacrifice being that the angle of the grind doesnt cut as well as the thinner blade. The scandi grind is strong, carves well, and sharpens easy. I was able to featherstick a toothpick, it just is a little easier with the thinner companion, at the sacrifice of strength. I have not had any rust issues, I had it out on a 4 day trip in a temperate rain forest, washing it with water when it got dirty. I got some light oxidizing spots, but they buffed off when I got home, and a light oiling is keeping it clean. The sharpening needed after that trip was minimal, a stropping alone would have been enough, but I needed to clean it up a little. For the price, its hard to beat. I had a more expensive cold steel leatherneck I was using, but quickly learned its useless as a bushcraft knife. I wanted a really nice knife, but didnt have the money. For the price, this knife will do everything I need it to, for as long as I need it to, until I can afford the garberg, or something custom.

> 3 dayBought this for our camp however the wife liked it so I have it to her to use in the kitchen for food prep. Well shaving sharp it isnt. ITS more like a butter knife I dont know whos writing these reviews but I wish they would be truthfull. These knives are not as advertised, not sharp, they have a great handle thats about the best part of these things. As I said have it to the wife and one hour later she brings me the knife and said look at this. The blade went through one zukinnie(pardon the spelling,)one half of an onion, and some carrots, and some garlic an thats it the blade tarnished, discolored by turning black an spoty. All in all VERY dissatisfied with these, its the old saying you get what you pay for and dont believe everything you read never again...

06-06-2025After buying one for myself on a Lightening Deal, Ive since bought two others - one as a gift. Very good chore knife, not pretensions. Good Swedish steel, tough and thick enough to hold up to rough use. Holds and takes an edge very well (If you dont have good stones, get some). Good for the to-go: tool bag, or whatever. I added a ShotLine wrist loop to the hilt to mine. Get two. A steal at this price. If yours grows legs, you wont cry over your $200 Rambo Special.

> 3 dayAnother excellent Mora! I processed a huge amount of fatwood via batoning and this heavy-duty companion had zero issues so dont worry about the strength of the partial tang, its fastened into the handle super strong. The scandi grind is great, bits into the wood deep. The high carbon steel is exceptional, with no damage from batoning the fatwood. I do not see any reason to buy the Mora Bushcraft for twice the price if youre trying to choose between the two. That said, I am sure the Mora Bushcraft is a great knife and easily worth the extra money if makes ya happy.

06-06-2025Purchased for Bushcraft great knife. Only downside is you cant use it on a ferro rod, it need a sharper 90 degree angle. I will be purchasing more.

> 3 dayAn excellent knife. Very strong; the thick blade can take a beating. The edge from the factory is among the sharpest Ive seen. Have not had any rust problems. The sheath does appear to have a slight crack where the belt loop attaches, but has not broken off.
