Morakniv Companion Heavy Duty Knife with Sandvik Carbon Steel Blade, 0.125/4.1-Inch

> 3 dayOne days use practice throwing and mumblety-peg. I heard so many good things about these Mora knives, but I wouldnt use this model for outdoors use. I realize carbon steel needs care but this is really fast rusting. I am used to stainless and never had problems like this, my old kbar isnt like this either. I dont think I should have to do anything to it before I use it like the vinegar boil in other reviews, except sharpen it. You figure Mora could upgrade their carbon coating to resist rusting in an outdoors environment recommended knife that is going to get wet and dirty, wiped on whatever is handy to clean up and put away.

> 3 dayThis is a mans knife. It requires maintenance if you are going to be using this outside doing man stuff so if you are a pansy and will whine about having to sharpen the blade and oil it down with animal lard and what not stick to the stainless steel blades. That being said... I love this knife. I have an entire set of mora blades. It is a truly a knife that one has to use to appreciate after using for any period of time. Even though it is a heavy duty blade, which I love, it still takes a great edge and throws a spark with a decent piece of metal. For the price, you cant go wrong. Seriously. I can sit here and list all kind of stuff, but just do an internet search. You will find copious amounts of goodness about Mora knives.

> 3 dayNearly the most perfect knife Ive ran across. It does exactly what its made for. Anyone complaining about it more than likely tried to use it in a way it wasnt intended... Id compare it to my $150 Tops B.O.B. anyday

> 3 dayNick an artery with this bad boy shaving and youll be passed out in a puddle of blood and shaving cream before you even feel the bite.

> 3 dayAfter one pass on a leather strop I could shave my face. Be careful. It is carbon steel so wash & dry after use or it will stain.

> 3 dayI went with the non stainless steel one and now i regret it. After using it twice knife became rusted and there are stains on it. Knife isnt as sharp as i thought it would be but gets the job done.

> 3 dayThis is one of the best emergency kit knife bargains on Amazon. I like the heavier blade compared to other Morakniv models. I cannot add much to thorough reviews by others. Just another 5-star rating.

> 3 dayI bought this knife primarily as a backup/emergency use knife. For that purpose, and for the price (at the time I purchased the knife), Im well pleased. I would not choose it as my primarily knife for true back country camping or heavy-duty bushcraft use.

> 3 dayHonestly I have to say, I was a little hesitant to purchase this at first. Ive had it for over a year now and I have to admit that its my favorite camp/bush knife. Ive used it for batoning 3 inch limbs for fire prep, making feather sticks, tinder bundles, and netting needles. This knife has really surpassed my expectations and I have since purchased several others and I recommend it to anyone in the market. Five stars all the way.
