> 24 hourThis is such a solid built tool. I used to use a Stockton Tool Company chain breaker/riveter and it would seem like every 2 times I would break a chain, the rivet breaker would bend or snap. The metal was fragile and brittle and I would bend after the first rivet. Ive been using this chain breakers for a while and Ive never had this issue, occasionally I would get the chips of metal stuck in the thread which cause the unit to get stuck but its no big deal, thread it back in and blow out the debris and continue on with your task. This tool made riveting the chain so easy I actually cracked the rivet a couple times because of how light it feels compared to the cheaper units out there.

> 24 hourThis little tool is exactly what the home mechanic needs to connect and break endless chain. Works well and is very tough.

> 24 hourI wish i had bought this one first. Spend the money and get this one. Durable and fool proof. Does not walk at all when tightening like cheaper ones will. Where you put it, it stays. Have used it a few times already with no problems. It comes in a nice case and pre lubed. Keep it lubed.

> 24 hourRemoved my old 520 chain and riveted the new DID ERV7 520 chain with the PBR tool. I would recommend greasing the threads before use, especially when riveting.

> 24 hourTook less than 30 seconds to break apart the 520 chain w/O-rings. (This is a brand new 520 chain) Only real problem was that the product came sligtly used but was supposed to be brand new. Other than that no problems.

> 24 hourI didnt use the chain breaker part, since I was getting rid of an old chain, I simply used a dremel cut-off wheel to cut through the link plate. Much simpler that trying to punch out the pin. Every chain breaker Ive looked at had some reviewer complaints that the pin was breaking. I think you have to grind off the head of the pin and be very careful about getting the tool square to the pin for this to work, these chains are used on motorcycles making well over 100HP, so theyre going to be tough. Anyway, enough about that. The tool included a single page instruction sheet in full color that fit into a pocket in the case, showing how to line it up for the various uses. This is a good thing, as there are quite a few combinations. For my use; installing a DID chain and rivet master link, it worked perfectly. You do have to carefully read the instructions, as this has combinations that will work with a variety of chains and types of master links. Great to have that flexibility, as I think Im going to have this tool a long time. Love it, highly recommend it.
