> 3 dayWatched enough YouTube videos to know what I was buying but the end result was right on point. Don’t settle for the cheap ass chain tools. I did and my new chain master link was destroyed. Buy the right tool for the right job.

> 3 dayWhen I opened the package, all of the threaded bolts were rusted. The bolt that houses the pin was so rusted, the spring would not fall out on its own but had to be pried out. It took about 25 minutes to clean all the threading and re-lubricate. It’s very important that everything is clean and oiled to prevent damage during high torque. The product did come pre-lubed, but it apparently wasn’t affective in preventing rust. Other than that, the tool has been terrific. I’ve broken an OEM 530 chain and the pinhead shows no sign of deformation. It took some convincing, though. Finding the right angle and position can be tricky to break stubborn chains.

> 3 dayI needed this tool to break an old chain and install a new chain with solid style rivet pins. This was not only the best priced option, but sleek looking with an innovative simple design that I thought would last a long time. This chain tool comes in a cool blue blow-mold case to hold everything, and comes with an spare pin which is good. I filed the pin head on the old chain flush with the connecting plate just like on the instructions, and then proceeded to line up the tool correctly to press out the pin. I got about midway through pressing out the old pin when it became pretty difficult to turn the press bolt. I kept turning slowly and the pin finally came out and I was able to get the old chain off. Unfortunately after i took the tool apart to see why it was hard to turn, i saw that the bottom of the bolt that presses against the extractor pin (the third object from the left in the main picture) had broken part of the bottom while in contact with the extractor pin. This tool comes oiled from the factory and I even applied a little grease to the threads to ensure this would not happen. I could not believe that on the very first use of this tool it had a piece break off! There is no replacement for this bolt available from motion pro yet, i dont know if that is because the tool is new or what but i will definitely need to get one soon. I am afraid to use the tool to break another chain, for fear of breaking the tool. Thankfully I could still use the tool to press on the rivet link of the new chain, and was able to start riveting the solid pins, but i need a vice to hold the tool because it is impossible to hold the tool with your hand and rivet the solid pins with a wrench. Also, the quad-stake rivet attachment for riveting solid pins is rectangular in shape and not round as the picture suggests. This is a better design so that the attachment wont spin around while youre trying to rivet those pins straight on. The attachment for riveting hollow-nose pins is round, like in the picture. All in all its a cool compact tool, and i do like its design but was a little disappointed with the strength of the top bolt and Motion Pro needs to have all the pieces available for replacement!
