Motion Pro 08-0519 BeadPro Tire Bead Breaker and Lever Tool Set

> 24 hourThese tire irons work as advertised, and help break a tire bead fairly easily. That being said, they are too thick and too short for mounting a motorcycle tire. I couldnt get enough leverage due to their short length, and their thickness makes them difficult to work a bead onto the rim. So they work for a special purpose, and are useful for a garage tool kit. But these would not be good for a trail riding kit, IMHO.

> 24 hourI saw a video with a guy using these and bought them in late June. My wife stacked them somewhere until I was ready to do my tires. Well, today is the day! I go find them and they are like 10” long! The guy in the video had some 18” or so. These are good for a bicycle or very small tire. They certainly didn’t work for crap with my Vulcan 2000. Very upset because I paid $58 for the bike set and now see there is a longer set for $70. Don’t know what touring bike the description is referring to using them on, but not mine. HIGHLY recommend you buy the larger set

> 24 hourWorks great on KLR 650 tires.

> 24 hourOutstanding. The only better irons are the long steel versions of these, but those are long, heavy and hard to pack when youre trying to stay light. Ive changed numerous heavy-duty motorcycle tires with these, to include notoriously stiff Heidenaus and Mitas Dakar. Combined with the combo spoon/24mm wrench iron from MotionPro, they comprise my trailside tire kit.

> 24 hourIve only used this tool once so far since Ive only changed my front tire on my dual sport bike once. This product not only helps break the bead of the tire, but it also can be used as extra spoons. I always carry this on my motorcycle tool kit.

> 24 hourIm unable to get enough leverage/separation with this tool on my KLR650 tires (front or back). It will pull the bead away, but not enough to retain some space when I pull it out and move it around the rim. The bead goes right back into place when I remove it. Therefore, still have to carry a 5 c-clamp to break & hold the bead, then I use this tool to work the bead off around the rim. Maybe its the geometry of my rims, but this isnt my primary bead break tool for trail riding. Tool is built very strong, but cant rely only this tool.

> 24 hourPaint scrapes easily and too short for easy use. Bead breaker works well though

> 24 hourNeed to be a little longer for better leverage. Not too much longer though.

> 24 hourDidn’t know there was a difference between the two styles and these aluminum ones are SHORT. If you need ones that actually work for anything bigger than a bicycle tire, get the steel ones.
