Glad i got these, both of them weigh about what one of the steel shop variety does. Good, aggressive bead breaking action, and the spoons on the opposite side are useful, if a bit wide for the curve of 17 rims.

Paint scrapes easily and too short for easy use. Bead breaker works well though

They worked great it does take a few times around the tire to get the bead to break but it removed and installed the tire with little issues

They work. Without reading the directions and never having removed a big dual sport tire before they logically allowed me to break the bead with minimal thinking. Besides working fine as a bead breaker, they can double as tire spoons too so if you are using it to make a to-go emergency tool kit its a reasonable choice. No regrets on purchase. -- On a side note, if you have never changed a tire yourself yet do yourself a flavor and practice the first one in the safety of your garage. Its do-able, but hard work. Having prior experience before a real emergency could be valuable later so you know you have all the right tools and knowledge in advance. Also bought Motion Pro 08-0286 10 T6 Combo Lever to do this and it is a very nice item.

The tire iron works great for small motorcycle tires but it would not break the bead on the rear tire of my tiger 800. They also did not have enough leverage to remove the tire from the rim. I should have bought the bigger steel set. I wish I could have gotten them to work.

Faced with unseating a rear tire from my 2004 BMW R1150 GSA I thought it was time for some new tire tools. I watched a couple of YouTube videos to see just how these go-then head to the garage. After removing the valve core and spraying the bead area with some Windex I started working my way around the rim with this tool and both beads were broken on the first 1/2-2/3 of the way. Just wedge the forked part between the tire and rim then follow in with the other piece. Squeeze the handles together and press down. I know this sounds like a lot of work, but this bead breaker takes way less effort then I expected. Beads broken, rim savers in place and I tried using this as a tire lever. No sweat for an old tire in a cold garage. I was concerned that these would bend and I am the type of guy that can ruin just about anything. Hardly a mark on the bead breaking end and the other end appears unused after levering a tire on an off. Taking another look at the tool kit a carry; all but one of my tire levers will be removed and Replaced by the Motion Pro set, and they are lighter to boot!

I have two sets of these - one on my Adventure Motorcycle and one in my Fanny Pack on the dirt bikes. They were great for breaking the bead on the trail side as well as in the garage. Had to swap out a tube on my Adventure motorcycle in the woods and this tool help we do it in 30 minutes. Light weight and strong. I highly recommend them.
